Crown of Crystal Flame
Hey all... this is just a quick post (deadline is upon me) to let you know what's up.
First, mid January, I found out my current contract (which includes Tairen Soul, The Winter King, and Bel and Gaelen's books) was sold to Avon. So I had a second change of editors and spent a lot of time on the phone with my agent, my new editor (#2) etc. (Her name is Tessa Woodward, BTW, and she sounds just lovely. I'm looking forward to working with her - and with Avon.)
The second thing is, I wanted to let you know that the 5th and final book in the TAIREN SOUL series has undergone a Change of its own. since moving to Avon. The book has a new name. It will now be called CROWN OF CRYSTAL FLAME.
B-but why? Well, basically, the marketing masters at Avon thought CCF would be more appealing to new readers than TAIREN SOUL, since no one who hasn't read the books will know what a Tairen Soul is (which, incidently, is the exact same reason Dorchester changed the name of my manuscript, TAIREN SOUL, to LoFL and LoLS).
Sorry for the confusion. But I'm growing rather fond of the new title, especially considering all the book elements it plays upon - Ellysetta's crown, Soul Quest crystals, tairen flame, and a big surprise.
Third, there is a release date for CCF posted on the online bookstores, but since I promised my readers I wouldn't announce it myself until after I turned the book in, I've been keeping mum on the subject. Once I turn the book in, I'll make an official announcement to everyone on my announcement list - and here on the website.

oh noes... that cant be good unless of course ellie roasts him alive and eats him for dinner. I have a feeling weve only seen a fraction of the powers that ellie posseses cant wait to see what she does next, reading and rereading in preperation for the release of crown of crystal flame!
QoSaS was a book that really stacked the odds against the good guys, with almost no advantages to be seen. Gloom and doom seemed the dominate theme. Does it persist into the last book? Or is there more of a balance?
About how long is this book going to be? If you don't mind me asking.

I can not even beging to tell you how excited I am about the next book. Im trying to hold off on rereading the first 4 until it gets a bit closer to the release date, but my soul is demanding a taste of Rain now. :)

I read about 3 books a week and I can tell you that this series is one of my favorites. It is very fast paced and has different challenges going on at the same time. It takes a great story line to keep me interested so thank you for writing this series. I tried the first book because of Christine Feehan's review of it (She's one of my favorite authors)- I was NOT disappointed and now I find myself anxiously awaiting for whatever you have in store for your fans next... "Crown of Crystal Flame"

I hope we find out why Lady Daramond is having a girl, and all the other ladies who attended that infamous dinner are all having boys! Waiting patiently (kinda).
Oh, so very excited! And I certainly do like the new title... though I do have a question. On goodreads, it shows a cover for the Tairen Soul book listed there - will this be changing with your new editors also? Though I suppose I will eventually find out either way... can't wait for that newsletter of yours! :)
I can't wait to find out what happens! I read A LOT of fantasy and paranormal books and this is my favorite series! I'm dying to read the conclusion, but I don't want the Rain and Ellie's story to end!

Does it really matter how long the book is? I've been reading a really long time and even a 1000 pager doesn't scare me if it is as good as the other four.
