QUEEN Sightings!!

Gia at her local Borders (Town Center, Brandon, FL) after a long day at the office.....finds there are only three remaining copies of "Queen of Song and Souls"!!!! All for me!! Muah-ha-ha-ha!!!! ~Gia~

To start the day, I very impatiently waited to get out of work to go shopping. First, we hit Wal-Mart since that was the very first place I ever saw a Tairen Soul book. No luck. So then we go to Schuler's since it's right down the road. No luck there, either. (You could feel the energy coming off me, I wanted this book so bad). We left to go to Barnes and Noble on the Michigan State University Campus ... I ran down the escalator and hustled over to the romance section. Hmmm, every other Tairen Soul book but not Queen.

Thankfully Barnes & Noble is well staffed enough where they can help customers immediately. OHMYGOODNESS!!! The computer said they had it, so we trot back down to the romance section and of course it's not there, since I had JUST looked. So she goes to the back room, and FINALLY, FINALLY comes out with it in her hand. So I am rhapsodizing to her about the series and telling her she has GOT to read them. Then I go to the cashier and tell her how great the books are and she has GOT to read them. Finally, I am the proud owner of a Queen book. All the way home my mom heard "They are SO lucky they had it, if I would have had to make them call every bookstore in Michigan to find my book they would have been sorry, etc. etc. etc."
~East Lansing, MI

My husband's morning started extra early this morning, he is active duty and had a formation very early fun army stuff. Anyway being the loving husband he is got up extra early to go check the shelf's at walmart to see if the book was available yet so it would be there waiting for me when I woke up. Alas it was not :( but when he came home from work for lunch we set out on a mission, first to walmart again but alas queen had not made her arrival to the shelves then it was off to borders where I got a coffee and combed the shelf's in horror no book, until a nice lady pushing a book cart asked if she could help me. Please I said Please tell me you have Queen of Song and Souls by C.L. Wilson on there, she began searching her stack it wasn't looking good, then a spine of a book caught my eye on the back of the cart could it be was my search over? YES!!! there it was the book I've been waiting for with as much enthusiasm as I had for the last Harry Potter book. I paid for it and thank goodness my husband was driving because the minute i got in the car i began to read. Now its cold and rainy and I'm turning on the fireplace and curling up on the couch to read.
~ Ft. Eustis, VA

Just like where I first found the first books, Wallie World (Wal-Mart) happens to be the place I can get books easiest. There are no bookstores close by because I live in the middle of nowhere in a village. But! I called Wallie World at midnight last night and asked if they'd put it out on the floor then, they told me no and I cried myself to sleep. JK. So on my way to class the next day for college, I couldn't run fast enough into the WalMart and find the book section. There she was...her aura gold and brilliant. I skipped to the checkouts and ran to my car. Too bad I couldn't read while driving

Blog Fun!

I thought we could do something different today. Instead of me asking a question, I thought we try a "write what comes next" story. It can be crazy funny, sexy (PG rating max, please), or silly. Here's how it works, I'll start off the story with a brief paragraph that ends on an unfinished sentence. The first person to respond completes my sentence and starts a new one of their own. You can write as much (within reason please) or as little as you like, but be sure to end on an unfinished sentence.

Ready? Let's go. Here's the first part of our story - and where it goes from here is entirely up to you all!

Setting: Dharsa, The Fading Lands
Time: Let's have fun and say it's AFTER Tairen Soul and the end of the new Mage Wars.

Sparks flew as the gleaming steel of two mei'cha scimitars crashed against each other. The swords and the two seasoned Fey warriors wielding them fought a brief battle for dominance, but neither gave quarter.

White teeth flashed beneath cobalt eyes. Belliard vel Jelani stepped back and grinned at his friend, Gaelen vel Serranis. "Not bad, my blade brother. Your footwork could use a little practice though. I nearly had you on that last move."

One black brow arched expressively. "Keep dreaming, vel Jelani." Gaelen slid his mei'cha into its sheath in one smooth motion. "They tell me hope is good for the soul."

Bel laughed, and the pair of them turned to make their way off the Academy's dusty training field. As they neared the entrance to the Warrior's Hall, the doors burst open and a harried young warrior raced out. He skidded to a stop at the sight of them.

"Ser vel Jelani! Ser vel Serranis! Come quick! The Feyreisen needs you. There's a --"

Okay...it's all up to you. What comes next? Have fun!

(Obviously I went for silly. Ellysetta might find herself a new pet. Or perhaps sinister. What nefarious scheme could a new enemy have plotted with an magic-proof fuzzy ducky?*evil laughter*)

you could start by holding them. Ellysetta smiled at Rain as the two fierce fey warriors looked at each other uncomfortably.

"Feyreisa, we would be honored, but aren't they a bit small?" Bel asked.

"Yes," replied Gaelen "Maybe we could hold them in a few hundred years, when they're less breakable."

Ellie laughed and said,

Gaelen seemed unsure what to do with the wiggling bundle in his arms. His eyes were nearly pleading as he glanced at the Feyreisa. Elysetta laughed.
"Hold her closer to your chest," she advised. He did so slowly. He glanced down and two brillant green eyes stared back up at him. The fearsome Fey felt his heart melt a bit at the sweet look of the babe in his arms.

"Ser vel Jelani! Ser vel Serranis! Come quick! The Feyreisen needs you. There's a...problem at the lake over the Rhakis! Something swims beneath its surface! It has swallowed five fey!" The boy ran, Bel and Gaelen swiftly on his heels, rounding coroners and nearly knocking over the attendants of the palace. They met up with the Feyreisen out back in the clearing of green glass in full Tairen form, two leather saddles atop his vast back.
The two Fey stared for a moment before Rain's tenor voice hollered at them. -What are you two staring at? Get saddled! Five Fey are missing!-
They rushed to the Tairen and summoned air, swooping them both up to sit in their saddles and before they could fully buckle in, Rain took off. They shot up fast into the air, Bel and Gaelen's backs smashed to the saddle backs, their cheeks and lips reeled back from the sheer force of the wind.
-The Feyreisa and myself were enjoying the faelerias(sp) waters with most of her quintet close by and something stirred. The waters splashed up and snatched the Feyreisa,- His growl roared into the skies as they flew faster. -I wrangled it to free her but it vanished again. A few chimes later, the Fey were setting up wards to keep it contained in order to search for it and it snatched them off the surface. The five Fey haven't been seen since.-
They arrived shortly after a deathly landing that left Bel and Gaelen's manes strewn in several angles. They hopped off the Tairen's back, wobbling and running for the water, their directions constantly swerving this way and that, still shaken from the wild flight. They shook their heads to clear them and drew their fey'cha, staring at the dark, murky water.
"I think it best we search under, bind it and bring it to the surface where we can properly fight it without the disadvantage of water, eh?" Bel's cobalt eyes peeked over at Gaelen as they kept focus on the water.
"Aiyah." He agreed and both spun air, covering their mouths with the weave to supply them under the magickal falerias water. They dove in unison, racing to get in and search fast to save their Fey brethren.
The water stilled and both vanished.
"Now!" Rain, now back in his Fey form, gestured to the other Fey hiding behind the trees and magick woven barrier. They ran out fast with Ellysetta at their elbows and Rain dipped her into the water as Steli Cha'kai thumped over from her place hidden as well and blew orange tairen flame over the water, sending it to nearly a boiling point, fish bubbling to the surface dead. Ellie gasped, instantly, her body felt electrified and lustly alive. She stared up at Rain with need in her eyes and he tried hard to resist the urge to get in with her and share that need. The faelerias magick was inhancing her magick, just like the keflee served so long ago at the palace dinner, her instant weave of lust spread through the water.
Bel surfaced first, hair wet and matted to him, flipping water droplets this way and that. He took a gulp of air and stared at the fish bobbing around him in confusion. His body felt shaken, yearning urgently for release.
"What kind of creature...?"
Just then, Gaelen rose to the surface, the same look upon his face as he looked at the fish, then his eyes met that of Bel's. A long moment took before they suddenly clung to each other in a tight hug.
"Gaelen," Bel's voice was throaty and urgent. "I must ask something of you, my brother."
"Oh gods," Gaelen muttered, feeling the same idea to sound genius.
"Gaelen..."
