My artist friend, Heather Carr, has several other Tairen Art projects in the works including:
A portrait of a tairen family. Does this pose look familiar to you? It should. Rain commissioned Ellysetta's father Sol to carve a tairen matepair in ebonwood and fireoak, and Sol took the liberty of adding a pair of tairen kitlings playing at the feet of the tairen mates. I can't wait to see the color version of this.
And a portrait of Merdrahl's Fire Song. After his mate, Cahlah, died attempting to defend their unhatched young from the mysterious "wasting sickness", the tairen Merdrahl would have suffered the painful, lingering death of mate-loss, but the pride granted him peace and freed the matepair's souls through the fiery funeral rites of the Fire Song.
In the finished piece, a boiling sea of red-orange flames and smoke will wreath Merdrahl.
Heather and I hope to develop a complete series of paintings from the books, so my Question of the Day is the following:

That's a hard question! For me, it's a toss up between when Rain scorched the world (I think this scene would be visually stunning!) and the moment when Rain and Ellysetta 'meet' for the first time, when he is called out of the sky.

Wow it is a very hard question i think the revalation of lillis and lorelles magic would be neat, I also think When Elysetta true being was revieled after her mothers death. OOO the bay of Flame, The Tairen singing to the eye, Steli challenging Rain and Elysetta there are just so many i cant possibly write them all
I'd love to see Ellysetta flying out of the Faering Mists on Steli's back in her Battle garb with the sun glinting off of her blood sworn blades/rivets or Elly dressed for her wedding with all of the Crystals strung about her.
I think the one I would most enjoy would be the scene where the Eye of Truth shows the old time. Hundreds of Tairen flying over the Plains of Corunn.
I would like to see a picture of Ellysetta discovering her power for the first time at the cathedral.
Or maybe a picture of the simple Celierian wedding between Rain and Ellie.

The scene that I would want to see painted would be the scene where Gaelen and Marissya see each other for the first time in a millenium, in Lady.
Well, there's many, but at the biggest part, the what I assume would be shown as flashbacks for Rain's scorching of the world scenes. Those I believe should be acted with extras and the actors, then placed in later as a green/blue screen. I mean, the scorching of the world is just .....one of the most amazing things in the series and I want to see it so badly. Also, I'd like to see the scene in LORD when Rain is in the museum and makes the spirit weave of his long lost love. Awwww....I'll hug you Rain.
In addition to all of the pivotal, plot turning scenes I would like to see a tender moment between Rain and Ellysetta. ~Gia~
Hmm, that's a hard one. I think Rain and Elly's wedding would be nice. Or one of the scenes where Elly is riding Rain in Tairen form.

I would like to see Rain & Ellysetta entering Dharsa, with the former rasa and the tairen. I think that has the potential for a spectacular panorama.
Wear to begin? The kitten Love gone crazy, Rain's magic in the river, the final battle of the two Fey warriors who seek out information on Elly's past, the court appearance, and that first royal dinner. ;-P Those are just my thoughts from the first book.
Rain's Rampage!!! Burn baby burn!! It may have not been a nice time, but it would have been amazing to see!
Like everyone else how to choose?! I think aside from all the other suggestions how about the moment Ellysetta felt threatened by the Eye of Truth - the image of the azrahn created black tairen hovering over her would be a stunning visual. On a more playful note how about when Steli was drying Ellysetta after their water play? Or knocking? Lastly, perhaps Sybharukai offering the kiyranis of the pride to aid in saving the kitlings or the pride defending Rain and Ellysetta from the massan.
Steli drying Ellie after the fun in the pool would be nice, but so would be any picture of Rain alone or Rain and Ellie together.Maybe when they are playing stones in the first novel?

All of them! But if I had to choose, I think I would like to see a picture of the scene in the Solarus when Ellysetta releases her magic. It's such a compelling scene and I think it would look amazing if all the characters were included, especially Rain.

That's a tough one as many others have said... Though along with pretty much everybody who'd love to see something with Rain and Ellie or when Rain scorched the world there's a couple scenes that have always stuck in my mind. I'd love to see a picture of Belliard and Ellie as she was healing his soul. I also wouldn't mind a picture of Sian and Torel (even though I know they were minor characters) back to back in their fight to the death against the Eld. Or the scene where Belliard was brought in Sel'dor chains before the Celerian court after being falsely accused of murder, in pain yet so stoic and proud... XD Can you tell I have a thing for Bel?
1. When Rain is courting Elly and flies her out to show her the seashore--I love seascapes, and her look of wonder and his enjoyment at her wonder would be a nice scene.
2. The banquet scene when Elly is unconsciously weaving and everyone is starting to feel funny.
3. The tairen song circle in the cave
4. The army of healed fey soldiers swearing fealty to Elly
5. Coming out of the pass into the fey lands-the first glimpse of the wide vista.
I would like to see Rain in Tairen form with Ellie in the saddle. With Steli and the other Tairen on each side. The scene right after they palyed chicken and are headed into the city.
I would also like to see the parade of the lutans, showcasing the 2 tairen on hind legs with Ellie standing behind them in the gown made from the lutans knives.
I would most like to see when Ellie called Rain from the sky and they first met, when Rain was giing Ellie lessons, Rain and Ellie's wedding, when Ellie healed Gaelen and when Ellie and Rain were playing with the Tairen in the pools at Fey Bahren (I know there are quite a few, but these are amongst my favourite scenes)
Their are so many.....But i think at the end of King when Rain puts on the Fey King armor for the first time. To victory and life........
Many of my favorite scenes are already mentioned, so I'd like to see some of the moments from Prince Dorian's betrothal ball, i.e. when Rain and Ellie are dancing the Felah Baruk and when Adrial meets Talisa.

I'd like to see a few scenes drawn. First would be when Elysetta called Rain from the sky. Next would be when the Tairen Kits were born. I'd also like to see a picture of Elysetta and her quintents (both her orignal one and the lu'tan one she has now). I'd also like to see the Fey'Bahren pride playing in the water.
There's just so much detail in all of the books...almost all the scenes are so richly described they could easily be transformed into artwork!
I think I would to see Rain and Elysetta's wedding or Elysetta's riding Rain in Tairen form. I would also like to see a picture of Rain and Elysetta embracing (showing some form of affection.

I'd love to see the hatching of the surviving Tairen kitlings in King graphically rendered or the Fey'Bahren Pride singing Pride-greetings to Shei'Kess.
Like everyone else I want to see Elysetta come into her powers, her and Rains wedding, and the baby kits after they've hatched. I'd also like to see the memorial that Rain and Elysetta created for Sariel. And from your excerpt for Queen of Song and Souls I want to see when Lillis and Kieran's power combine to stop the rocks from the mountains from crushing them and the intense look on Kierens face before he kisses Lillis and sends her to the Faering Mists.

It's a toss up between Rain scorching the world (because that would be brilliant) or the church scene, where Elysetta comes into her abilities (maybe mirror the light and dark tone in that scene) I've spent hours trying to visualize a descriptive image in my head of that scene. So far, nothing has done it justice.

There are so many to choose from, but I would love to see when Ellie's tru self is revealed for the first time and, Rain and Ellie swimming in the pool with Tairen. I can't list everything I would love to see, it would be everything.
Love the artwork. The Hall is a neat place and a series of 3 or 4 pictures of the chamber with the Tairen's Eye.
1/The display with the Eye on it.
2/Rain Tairen Soul approaching it with his hands out.
3/Agony of touching it.
4/Release, "answers at last."

Oh God. So many more. Hell, I'd say these should be made...into an anime [Geneon does good work, they recreated Hellsing to truly follow the manga version], as Hollywood has screwed up so many of the books turned into Movies. [Eragon? YUCK. What. The. Hell.] I have too much love for these books to have them be turned into something like that.
Pretty much in addition to what everyone else has said, I'd like to see a realistic rendering (okay, as realistic as fiction can be) of the portraits in the museum that so captured Elly's heart before she met Rain.

I think it would be neat to see the scene of Rain when he last does the Spirit weave of Sariel. I think the emotions on his face would be hard to capture, but if it could be done, it would be really powerful.

oh my goodness! tanya just about got every powerful moment captured!! i completely agree with her:)) all of those sound wonderful. but.. (lets do something darker!) maybe the high mage with elfeya and shan still imprisoned? im not sure exactly what should be captured there. their hate for the high mage or their devotion to one another? or even elfeya healing the high mage after he binds a tairen soul to a fey? i just think we should have not only lovey-dovey happy images (which are my favorite!!) but some dark scary images as well. again tanya you did an amazing job capturing all those moments! i loved reading EVERY SINGLE one of them! :)

There are numerous possiblities but the one I would most enjoy seeing would be Ellysetta's first ride on Tairen back.
I would love to see the scene when Rain and Elysetta first meet. What an awesome moment. I think i reread that part over a dozen times since it was such a poignant moment.
I think the one I would like to see is Ellysetta riding on Rain in his Tairen form...
I love the Tairen family portrait that is started on your blog. It will be awesome when finished. That will be a favorite. I work with preschoolers and really love little ones. When you finish them, the series of prints
will be spectacular. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
So hard to choose. I would like to see when Ellie and Rain met for the first time, the first time she rode on Tairenback or the scene when it is first revealed that Ellie is a Tairen soul.
Hands down, the scene where Rain is called out of the sky to meet Ellie.
You do pick some hard questions Cheryl! Hmmm ... since you did say scene(s), here are my favourites:
1) When Rain first claims and meets Ellie
2)When Elysetta's magic bursts forth at the Cathedral after Lauriana's death.
3)When Elysetta restores Gaelen's soul
4)When Rain and Ellie get married
5)When Ellie is welcomed in Dharsa
I think that will do (for now :D).

Wow, there are several good ideas in the previous comments.
I have to agree with Endrance De Beaumont, I'd like to see a picture of Sian and Torel. Although, I think I'd like a more dramatic moment-of-death picture, where Sian has just fallen, Torel is in his last moments, and Gaelen is off to the side, too late to save either of them. I thought that was the saddest moment in the whole series.
Another option might be the moment in the Solarus where Selianne has just saved Lauriana and is dissolving, and Lauriana is about to smash the scepter. It might be titled something like "Redemption." Not that there is any forgiveness in my heart for Selianne or Lauriana, but it could make a good picture.
My husband wants to see Shan being tortured (o_O). He says that time with the guy with the hammer who is shattering Shan's bones. I think he misunderstood what I meant when I said "graphically." But if I was going to add to that, I think this would make a powerful picture, with a translucent overlay in the background of two women: Elfeya weeping, and Elysetta screaming in pain as they both share the moment with him in their own way.
And on a lighter note, how about that scene when Ellie's quintent is opening wedding presents, and Rain says "You bring pride to this Fey."
For a portrait, I think a picture of Gaelan and Kieran would be nice. Showing their dislike, but also a clear family resemblance.

+ "Flight!" Rain, bursting from the palace, away from Ellie. As well as one later on, when he's pushing against the vicious storm.
+ "Pursuit!" Bel chasing the street urchin that stabbed Ellie, along with the rest of her quintet.
+ "Bound, but not Beaten" Bel in shackles before the Council of Lords.
+ "Gateway" The gate into the well of souls, with the offering being devoured.
+ "Torment" Shan being disembowled, with the healer hovering over him, Elfeya watching.
+ "Ve sha Desriel!" [I am Death!] A split image, one of Shan lunging forwards towards Vadim, while on the other half, Ellie's thrown her head back with Rain's hand in view, and she's shouting the same thing while braced against her father.
+ "Surprise" The scene where the twins unveil their own power.
+ "Kem'jeto Ruvel" [My Brother Returns] Gaelen on his knees, in the Fading Lands, with Marissya nearby, huge smile upon her face.
+ "Blinding" After making it through the mists, this shot should be of a shining Ellie leaning against Rainier Eras's front foreleg. His wings should hover over her, fangs bared.
+ "We Are Fierce" Ellie pinning Tajik with her Tairen-Eyes, Tajik himself half-crouched, but looking undeniably shocked.
+ "Feraz Beauty" The trade between the Witch-Queen's messenger and Vadim.
+ "The Massan" A portrait of all five pairs that make up the Massan.
+ "Seizure" Ellie in the middle of one of her bad seizures, back arched off the ground.
+ "The Great Sun Rises In Your Eyes" A tender moment between Shan and Elfeya. They're both lying on the table in Boura Fell, still pressed against one another [to make sure there's no exposure xP].
+ "Out of the Woodwork" The Elden Army pouring from the gates made by the dropped Chemar.
+ "Restore" Rain in the Veil, the spring in Orest, still in Tairen form, with arrows dotting through his wings.
+ "Stolen" Vadim holding up a babe from the torn stomach of one of his pets. Perhaps Shia?
+ "To the Mists!" Kieran's group being pursued by the Darrokken.
+ "Reinforcements" Bel and Gaelen leaping from Rain's back, landing beside Tajik...'grinning like fiends'.
+ "Fire Song" A scene from the fire song, of course. Perhaps even Ellie peeking over a ledge?
+ "Mother's Love" Callah, fighting with the invisible soul-taker, protecting her eggs.
+ "Tairen's Scorching Flame" The arrival of all eight Tairen, not just Ellie on Steli's back.
+ "Nei, Little Sausage" one of the more deadly and yet humorous moments. Kiel holding Den down, Fay'cha hovering dangerously close, with Ellie looking on.
...and...yeah. I haven't a clue what else right now. xD; Round Two was fun.
I've always thought the scene where Ellysetta restores Gaelen's soul was amazing. :)
wow thats a hard question so many to choose from..I think it will be the scene when Rainn hugs Eli for the first time when he is called out of the sky
Hmmmm, that is an interesting thought.... one of two..... either the scene in Telenos where Galaen, Keien, and Keil are talking and Keil asks Galean to be his teacher. Or the scene where Keiren is holding up up the mountain with little Lillis clinging to his neck. Oh, or the scene in the Curch of Light, when Elly came into her own. LOL I could keep goimg.
