We're into the final week of our countdown!!! To celebrate, I've added even more daily prizes to our giveaway, including some gorgeous new artwork from my friend and fabulous wildlife artist, Heather Carr, and a carved stone pocket tairen.

Heather Carr brings the fierce defender of the Fey'Bahren pride to radiant life in her original oil painting, "Steli Chakai". This gorgeous work of art depects the tairen Steli, fierce chakai of the Fey'Bahren pride, standing in the entrance cavern of the tairen's lair, Fey'Bahren. Subtle pinks, blues, and lavenders grace the underside's of Steli's snowy wings.
A digitized rendition of the painting has been reduced and cropped to 4"x6" and mounted on a black-stained solid wood plaque suitable for wall display. The complete, uncropped painting is available in giclee or original oil-on-canvas from Heather's website, www.darkparadise.org.

Imported from China, carved from Aventurine, Jasper, Sodalite, and Goldstone, pocket tairen guard the pride. (Note: the Sodalite appears black in this photograph but is acutally varying shades of blue and white.) The larger editions of the pocket tairen (Sodalite, Green Aventurine, and Jasper) stand approximately 2" x 1" x 1.5". The Goldstone tairen is slightly smaller.
I comb the crystal shops looking for stone tairen. These four I picked up this year from DragonCon. I'll be giving away three this week and the fourth will be part of a "Grand Prize" basket of goodies to celebrate Release Day!
Daily prizes to be given to winners selected from today's commenters:
(1) autographed poster of KING OF SWORD AND SKY

Question of the Day:
How much time per day do you spend on the internet? And are there particular sites you spend most of your time / visit regularly?

54 Comments:
I attend online college so most of my day is spent on the university of phoenix student site. I also radomly check my facebook and myspace and of course daily trips to your website :)
Right now I do a lot study related work online so that's quite a few hours! This and your discussion group and maybe amazon.com/ca or chapters.ca are really the only sites that I visit regularly for pleasure for now. I do wish though that I had more time to visit other sites - some of the ones listed on earlier comments sound very interesting!
Depending on my timetable, I would say that I spend betwen half an hour and an hourand a half a day on the internet- it changes every day depending on my free time and my workload.Yes there are sites I particularly visit, normally some of my favourite author's sites I visit daily (this one included ^^), my gmail address and after that it's normally whatever is on my mind at that minute (new authors to see, amazon, ...)
You know that the first website visited each morning is yours of course! The blog and games have been fantastic!! I also spend some time on Christine Feehan's site I love her Dark series! I must mention also Alyssa Day her Posidon series has been a page turner. Of course then there is the daily business of email and bill paying to handle, not as exciting but necessary.
I spend about 1 hour on the internet. Most of my time is spent on checking email, and looking for new ways to teach my students
Off Topic = I SAW "QUEEN" AT
WAL-MART TODAY!!!!!!! (I ordered the hardcover so I didn't get it but it was soooo hard to walk away!)
Internet: Between School stuff for kids,Reviewing books, Working my online biz, and my addiction to facebook games (farmtown, farmville, cafe world, fish world, sorority life..) I prolly spend a good 6+ hours a day online. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
How much time do I spend on the internet? Way too much! lol
I divide my time between Facebook, checking my email, a private message board, and hunting down the best deals and coupons.
-Jilly
I spend about an hour to an hour and a half online most days. I check my e-mail and visit many author sites. I am new to facebook and am not yet addicted to it as I am told I will be. I also listen to music while I look at the sites.
Josie
I spend most of my free time away from college and friends on the internet. The sites I most visit are as follows: All Poetry for my role playing group and friends. C.L. Wilson's home page for catching up in the most I can on the Fading Lands.I also go to Tagged.com to keep up with friends and role playing, I visit Stephenie Meyer's homepage and thetwilighsaga.com for the twilight fanbase.
...An embarrassing amount of hours. I spend more time on the Internet than is healthy, that's for sure. There's just so much to keep up with that the backlog of stuff to sift through is insane if I leave it for even a day. щ(゚Д゚щ)
Tabs I always have open: Gmail, GoogleVoice, Facebook, Twitter, LiveJournal. Those are enough to keep me occupied for at least a few hours. Then there's all the other shiny stuff that catches my eye...
I spend an hour to three hours a day online, depending upon what I am working on. I do a lot of research for products and work online, as well as for fun. I love StumbleUpon, but that will lose me for too many hours! I check Cheryl's site daily, and usually facebook a couple of times a day. I also check Amazon for book recommendations and posts usually every other day. On the rare occasions when the internet is down, I am like a lost puppy!
I spend about one and a half hours on the internet per day. I check up on my friends on facebook, then check my favorite author’s websites and Leontines book realm and finally double check my favorite ebook store for specials.
I am online most of the day working. Then I spend 3 to 8 hrs a day at home on facebook, looking up my horses stats in the national association he is in, looking up new releases for books, shopping on E-bay, etc. I LOVE the internet unless it's trying to give me a virus.
It depends on how much time I have.
Most days about one hour. Checking emails and favorite author sites and their blogs. If I have more time I go to amazon and check book recommendations or I go on facebook.
I probably spend at least 3 hours on the internet each day. I'm a student so I frequently check my university email and all the sites for my classes. When I'm not doing school stuff, I look at facebook or just play around on barnesandnoble.com. But usually I'm just doing physics and ochem :(
-Katie
I am on the internet quite a bit at night as there is a seven hour difference between where I currently resside and home. Thus Skype is always on so that people at home can call me. I visit several sites frequently: my school and private email, facebook, fanfiction.net, and last but not least the C. L. Wilson and Christine Feehan websites. I'll also check the Patricia Briggs and Sherrilyn Kenyon sites once a week or so.
I spend several hours a day on the Internet....of course I have to visit one of my favorite sites...this famous author who has another masterpiece being released in just a few short days...hmmm.. now who could that be?:) lol I also spend time answering emails and chatting with my friends from far off shores.... ~Gia~
I would say I spend between 6 to 8 hours most days on the computer. Usually my four email sites, lately Cheryl's blog, my bank..... amazon.... and the one reviewer site I review for.
I'm online for a good portion of the day. My leisure time is generally spent on my email, or on facebook playing games. I browse other websites as well.
I also spend a good amount of time researching for school papers and research projects.
Unless I'm asleep or I'm transporting my computer somewhere I am always on msn, and I check my websites usually once an hour.
The websites I check regularily are your website, Facebook, fmylife, mylifeisaverage (which is basically a version of fmylife but has epic wins instead of fails), LOLcats, failblog, twilight lexicon, my school e-mail, cosmopolitan (occasionally) and the website for my favorite band, Jack's Mannequin. And of course, youtube. And postsecret every week.
The reason that there are so many sites on my list that are funny is because i'm a university student. i need them to make me laugh:)
I would have to say at least three hours, usually stretched out to whenever I can get on. I find the internet limitless, as you could never get tired with it. Lately everyday I have been checking in with Cheryl's blog here and Amazon to track recent packages. As for routines: facebook, dragon cave, our local shelter's site (as I'm constantly looking for a puppy to adopt), yahoo for email and cnn for news of course. But usually it varies by day with what I choose to look into.
- Elise
I spend several hours a day on the internet. I have two online courses I'm taking as well as my job search plus keeping up with family and friends through MySpace, Facebook, or their Blogs. I also go on sites like YouTube or Hula to watch shows no longer on the air or, like Doctor Who, that only play on the expensive cable channels.
April C
Like a few of the other people, I spend way more time than what is healthy on the internet~
Sites I frequent most commonly are things like Gaiaonline [ where I'm saving up gold for delicious cosplays |D ], sometimes you might find me browsing DeviantArt, of course I come to your site every day, Cheryl, hmm...recently I've been reading fanfiction on places like fanfiction.net...and a collection of other places.
I also tend to chat with friends via instant messengers, so majority of my time is taken up by that.
Being a college student living several states north of my home state, I use the internet constantly. Guesstimating, roughly 5-7 hours out of my weekdays are spent on the internet researching, checking email (Yahoo and AOL), using social sites, such as Facebook, to keep in touch with family and friends back home. Since finding this site, it has become one of my top four visited sites! Google has also become one of my best friends as a source for research--it's even how I found this website!
I probably spend 6-8 hours total on the internet. I go to a lot of author websites and blogs and I belong to some groups that I visit with. I also have Facebook and Twitter. Oh and I go check out E-Bay every now and again.
I spend a lot of time on the internet. Probably about 4 hours. I write reviews for an romance review website so I put in a lot of time on the reviewer page. I also spend a lot of time on author website and author blogs, as well as publishers websites.
I spent at least one hour the computer. I check my facebook daily, pogo.com and your site.
I normally spend an hour or two on the internet per day. Much of it is researching information but I take breaks between and read blog posts from various authors/publishers and review blogs.
i am a competitive computer gamer online, so spend a lot of time playing, 40hrs a week at my peak, though its now down to about 15hrs.
apart from that i browse forums and favourite websites, authours and gaming ones.
still have not seen queen over here yet, gutted.
On average I spend about an hour a day online. Mostly checking email, facebook and then a few other sites (shopping, looking for deals, etc).
Heather B
I would say about 2-3 hours a day looking at email, checking out author/review blogs, favorite food bloggers, ravelry, the news and shopping. It has steadily increased every year as I figure out how much interesting stuff is on there!
Hmm, I spend a fair deal of time on the internet, in part due to work (I have to send a lot of e-mails for various reasons during the course of the day).
Outside of work, I'd say I'd spend a few hours online - this involves spending time reading my personal e-mails, reading online fiction (when I'm not too tired and something catches my eye) and checking out my favourite authors' websites and seeing what's new there.
(All of the above listed is what I spend most my time online doing, when not working)
I spend about 2-3 hours a day. I like to blog hop and keep up with upcoming books and add to my already huge wish list. I also like to go to Amazon alot and look for new books to try at Paperback Swap and Book Mooch. Also spend time at Library Thing and Good Reads. Much time is also spent on emails.
I spend about 1 to 2 hours a day on the internet. Checking my facebook, email and researching new books and authors. I love to read and am running out of books quickly! One of my favorite sites is fantasticfiction.com
About an hour a day typically... Shelfari, Facebook, Livejournal, and Missouri State are where I frequently spend my time. :)
Patterson1219
I spend far too much time online once I'm home from work. I have my favorites, of course: Linda Howard's fan BB, Running With Quills blog, Jill Shalvis' blog, Dear Author, Cheryl's blog, and then checking emails on two different accounts.
By the way, what a mean and nasty teaser you posted at the top of today's blog!! Man!!
It depends on the day. Some days it might be Half an hour someday 6 hours if I'm looking around for. What I mostly look up are dvd's or books I want to buy or if it's Christmas time something with Mickey on it for my mom. The websites I usely go to are Amazon, ebay, Abebooks, or half.com. I also go to Utube to watch some anime movies or episodes sometimes. Or when I'm in College I'll use the internet for classes.
Recently though I've spent a lot more time at your website.(the only problem is when I want to find out something it can take forever when the internet is working badly and sometimes I can't look up anything because the internet cashes, like it has right know at 12:15 pacific time :( That why when its up I try and do everything I want get done even if it is working really slowly.
Sonja
I'm a Grad School student and my program is online so I have to spend a significant amount of time online researching, posting replies, etc.
I spend some time on facebook and some time skype'ing with relatives in Europe...
Then there's the time I spend reading manga and watching anime (www.crunchyroll.com) and also watching Japanese dramas. I am such an addict (^_^)
Add in the e-mail checking and other surfing and I believe I spend anywhere from 4 - 8 hours online...but it depends on how much homework I have and whether or not I spend time reading... I can't wait until I get my degree and have more time to relax
i would say 2 hours or less.
i check my facebook, myspace, and email at least twice a day. (those 3 sites are where the brunt of my time is spent) if im alone (which is not very often:) i'll spend more time on here just checking things out...but usually my hands are full with housework and my boys:)
~amanda
depends, if im gaming alot can spend 40 hours a week but like now im prob only on for about 15-20, just go thru phases.
mak...
I'd say I spend at least 3 hours a day online. But I don't watch much if any TV on days I do, or I do both at once. I check my myspace, the MSN Money boards, consumerist.com, the immortal geisha forum, sometimes the customers_suck or evilcustomers community on livejournal, shelfari, and occasional forays onto ebay or amazon.
~Rach
I usually only spend at most an hour online per day. I will go to my favorite authors' websites for updates and then head to cnn.com and people.com.
I will also check email once or twice a day.
-PW
Well, there's different types of being on the Internet, in my book.
There's Work Internet. I work in Accounting, and there's lots of banking, dealing with other companies, contacting customers, downloading information. At work I am connected pretty much all the time, and I won't tell you where I go because that's probably a security breach.
There's Necessary Internet. That's like checking my bank account, balancing the budget, paying bills, finding directions. Personal things other people might do by hand.
Then there's Just Spending Time on the Internet. I try hard not to do this too much, so I would say between 10 minutes per day, to an hour. Unless I get absolutely caught up in something. I often take my 30 minutes for Lunch to check my yahoo and gmail email accounts. Also my Xanga blog (though I don't blog much anymore), and my Tagged account (which is a joke, and I hardly ever use it).
The other things I do is pretty much depending on what I want at the moment. Is there a song stuck in my head, and I can't remember the chorus? Is the bank closed this Monday because it's a holiday, or is it open? I start with Google, and it takes me from there.
I'm not particular about where I go provided it gives me the information I was looking for. I couldn't even tell you what's on my Favorites or bookmarks.
OH,except for [DRUM ROLL] FanFiction.net!
I don't go every day, but when I do, I end up spending hours, and I gather stories that I like, put them on my computer, then I can print them out or read them at my leisure.
I have looked for Tairen Soul fanfic, and could not find any. Which I guess means no one is writing any yet, or they are not posting. If you have fanfic, please post, I love fanfic.
During the school year I feel like I'm on the internet all the time. Facebook is huge because it's how I stay in contact with people from home. I also get a lot of homework assignments posted on my University's website. I'm also a big Entertainment Weekly fan and I stay caught up with all my favorite authors. :)
Ally
I spend about three hours spread out through the day on the net. I have to do research for different lesson plans, home work, and I like to play online. THe websites I visit the most are, Facebook, Clwilson.com, perezhilton.com, people.com, stepheniemeyer.com, and aol.com. Sometimes, I visit Julie Garwood's website and a few other authors I love. I am a nerd, what can I say! :)
About six or more hours online.
About one hour doing daily quests, World of Warcraft characters.
E-Mail.Check out postings on sites:

I spend at least three hours and mostly checking my email and blogs. sometimes I enter contests. Sometimes I just check mail and get off. and that is usually less than an hour.
Far too much. I spend all day on and off the computer. I spend a lot of time playing games on Facebook. Sad, I know. I visit a number of different websites, blogs and forums for books, movies, tv and support groups for my illness. I'm unemployed at the moment so I also spend quite a bit of time on employment search websites and the like.
Spend a lot of time on the internet, probably 6 hours or so. I visit mainly the book blog that I run
www.bibliophilicbookblog.com, and mostly other book reviewing websites and author sites.
Monica
I'm a poor sleeper, night owl, so I spend too much time on the internet, lol, but great to occupy me and chat with other friends from all over when everyone here is sleeping. I sometimes chat, or lurk, with the Chatelaines, too, lol.
I spend about 3-4 hours a day online. I have a list of sites that I check along with email and Myspace before I start surfing.
Day 23 is now closed to "Enter to win" comments. Day 24 blog is now up.
I'm on all day except for errands and if one of the kids needs my computer.
