MORE PRIZES!!!!!!!!

We're into the final week of our countdown!!! To celebrate, I've adding even more daily prizes to our giveaway, including some gorgeous new artwork from my friend and fabulous wildlife artist, Heather Carr, and a carved stone pocket tairen.

"Arrival at High Reaches" ~ Original Tairen Art Wall Plaque

A sleek, black tairen alights on a rocky spire in Heather Carr's original oil painting, "Arrival At High Reaches". The smoky hint of the volcanic Feyls mountain range lies in the distance.

A digitized rendition of the painting has been reduced and cropped to 4"x6" and mounted on a deep purple-stained solid wood plaque suitable for wall display. The complete, uncropped painting is available in giclee or original oil-on-canvas from Heather's website, www.darkparadise.org.

Daily prizes to be given to winners selected from today's commenters:
(1) autographed poster of LORD OF THE FADING LANDS
(1) autographed copy of KING OF SWORD AND SKY
(2) autographed sets of Tairen Soul collector cards (LORD, LADY, KING & the brand-new absolutely gorgeous QUEEN OF SONG AND SOULS - Card #4 in the series)
(1) Tairen art wall plaque, from the original oil painting, "Arrival at High Reaches", by Heather Carr

Play Fey Games for More Chances to Win!

In another chance to win, email feygames@live.com (please note, this is a DIFFERENT email address) with the correct answer to the following riddle, and you'll be entered in a drawing to receive an autographed book poster of your choice. (LORD, LADY, KING or QUEEN) On release day, any person who got all the riddles correct will also be entered for a drawing of an autographed copy of QUEEN.

Ready? Here's the riddle....

I like my meals seared by fire

Which Fey am I, do you know?

And the Answer is
Select and highlight the hidden white text following the ellipses to discover the answer to today's riddle!....Rainier vel'En Daris, Rain Tairen Soul

If you had a chance to ask one question of any character in the Tairen Soul novels, who would you interview and what question would you ask him/her?

I would interview Elfeya; and ask her about Elysetta. I would ask what she would have named her had they been able to keep her. i would also ask her about her healing arts, since she apparently has a vast knowledge since she was able to help Elysetta save the Tairen kits.

I would also want to know about her life...especially before the Mage Wars.

If I had to interview any one Fey it would be Gaelen. I'd ask if he had any regrets about becoming Dahl'reisen and starting a war after his sister's death.

I would interview Bel. What was his life like before Ellie, and where does he think life will take him since he's sworn to her?

Hmmm, that would be hard....

I guess I would want to ask Venerra, the council leaders Mate, why she was so determined to bring down the Tairen Soul? Not just Elly who could cause their destruction according to the eye.... but the Rain himself.

I would interview Sybharukai and the other tairen and ask them why they chose Rain at the end of the mage wars to be the Feyreisen. If not I cold probably find a couple of question for the eye of truth-it does know everything, or nearly everything (although it probably wouldn't answer).

I would ask Bel:

What qualities would you like in a mate and what would you like me to wear to our bonding ceremony? :)

My silent warrior Bel could wear a kilt !!!

I would talk to Elfeya and Shan and ask them how they can possibly survive everything they've been through and if they have a plan for Ellie or for Vadim Maur.

Im going to flirt with the darkside here because i am curious about something the high mage does, i would ask how he can subjugate a childs soul, children are innocent there should be some reprieve for those who are claimed without there consent, this would incidentally be a good question for the eye and possibly key to saving the world from the high mage.

Being that I am officially in love with Bel, I would interview him, hands down. But what to ask? A million questions come to mind and I believe the thing I most want to know is this...

"Bel, do you, somewhere deep inside, honestly have some kind of hope still that you will fall in love? Have a mate?"

A think it would be a true test of his character even though the Lute'sheiva bond restricts this possibility. Bel is a complex character, and it would tell me a lot about him if he answered honestly.

...on a side note, I personally wouldn't be surprised if those that have sworn themselves to Ellie, because of her vast power and love, would still be able to find a sheitanista bond. xD That being said, even if that wasn't possible, an etanista bond is definitely a possibility--but pfft, if the books were reality, nobody could ever get them that way, unfortunately. They might see the love...but we're mortal, ne? Darkness everywhere, even in me. So questioning Bel, Taijik, or Gaelen about possible romantic interests would be a sore waste of time, and bruising/damaging to the heart.

Pity, really, 'cause hell...I'll admit, I would love to have a Bel, Gaelen, or Taijik of my very own. xD -SHOT.- [Koffkoff...I'm hopeless, though. If there was any way for it, who wouldn't jump at the chance?]

Saying that, I find there are too many possibilities, too many questions needing to be answered, that picking one would be insanely hard.

However, if I could have my whimsy, I would have to be a foolish mortal and ask Sybharukai and the Tairen pride whether it would be possible to dwell with them, if I were to adhere to the rules. I think it would be ultimately fascinating to live with them, even if it wasn't necessarily as one of the Pride. ...who knows, after some time, they might not just see me as a snack. ^^; An unofficial, official member of the pride? Mortal? xD ...that'd be awesome.

I can dream, no?

Hmmm, only one question ... then I would have to agree with Liz C,

I would ask Sybharukai and the other tairen why they chose Rain at the end of the Mage Wars to be the Feyreisen and would not let him die.

I have to concur that this is a tough one....I would want to ask Elysetta, "After having so much thrust upon her...other than being safe and happy with Rain and her family...what would be her heart's desire?" ~Gia~

okay i narrowed it down to 2:P...

the reason i picked these two are b/c i think that the chances of me actually finding out about them in this series is minimal. i have other questions that i am much more excited about (elfeya & shan, rain & elysetta, the tairen...) but i feel like these topics WILL get answered in the books:)) anyways, (sorry i rambled!) here area my questions!

1. i would ask lauriana (elysetta's adoptive mother) about her magic and about lorelle's and lillis's power. they kept it so hush, hush that i believe there's an interesting story behind it;)

2. i would also want to ask kieran if he knows who his truemate is? (because i feel like its lillis)and if it is lillis is this something difficult for him to deal with? b/c of the role he plays in her life now. (bodygaurd/brotherly friend)

I would ask Lauriana Baristani if it was really her sister that set the neighbor's house on fire or if she had anything to do with it. Obviously, it would have been traumatic to have her sister taken away from her and winded, but with Mrs. Baristani's excellent command of fire, even at a young age, could she really have done nothing? Was she really so afraid of her magic because of her sister's mistake or her own?

Hmm... If I could interview any character at all, then I would ask Tenn what he hoped to achieve at a time of such turmoil by trying to banish both Rain and Ellysetta from the Fading Lands at the end of King of Sword on Sky.

On a light-hearted note I'd love to ask Love the kitten, just what it is about magic that she hates and why is it that she particularly hates Spirit... Of course for me to be able to do that then I'd need the power to speak and understand feline.

This is difficult, because you have to be supposing the person is actually going to answer you.

I want to interview Vadim Maur. But I'm pretty sure he would just kill me if I tried.

But what I want to know is this:

Who/where/what happened to all those other tairen souls you have stolen/created over the last 1000 years? What is the real story behind Talisa, and how she can truemate, though she doesn't seem to really be Fey? What IS the evil experiment that connects Shan to Elysetta, and somehow makes you the father of her soul?

I know these are more than one question, but to me they are all part of the BIG question:

What really IS your master plan, Vadim Maur?!?!

I want to know how everything connects. It seems to me it must be far larger and grotesque than we've even begun to see.

And, slightly unrelated, but in a similar vein, my husband and I were talking, and we want to find out why azrahn is considered so bad. Somewhere, someone must have made up the rule not to weave it (for good reasons, I'm sure). It has since become a law that no one questions, but maybe it's time we should. What happened that an entire branch of magic would be banned...and isn't that a little extreme?

The “thing” I would most like to interview is the Eye of Truth, but since that’s not a person I would choose to interview Elfeya and Shan as a couple. My question would be “1000 years! How and why did you manage to survive such an ordeal?”

I'm curious about Talisa and would ask her what she plans on doing about Collum diSebourne and Adrial. She's married to diSebourne, but will have Adrial around whether she wants it or not, that become quite a mess if diSebourne finds out there are fey hanging around invisible.

My biggest question is for the Tairen what I want to know is why they wouldn't let any of the Shei'dalins enter there den and try and heal the kits. Especially when they Sariel and other e'tanitsa in the den. Unless they new somehow that they wouldn't be able to help the kits and if they knew or suspected something, I'd like to know what that was.

Huh. So many have already asked the questions I want answers to, like, can I get a ride tairen-back? ;P

I think I would have to ask Rain, or really, any of the warriors like Bel or Gaelen or Tajik, if he thought it was worth it. The years of peace after Rain scorched the earth. Only to now find out the Mages aren't dead, that they've been killing the Tairen and another war is afoot. While the fae themselves are much reduced, the population loss never made up.

This would be especially pertinent after they find out about the way Maur has been using his captive fae as breeding stock.
