"We die a little more each day."

It's October 13th, Day 13 of our QUEEN OF SONG AND SOULS release countdown!

Days until the release of QUEEN OF SONG AND SOULS: 14

We are counting down the days until the release of QUEEN OF SONG AND SOULS, book #4 of the Tairen Soul quintet. Each week, I'll be choosing winners to receive an autographed copy of QUEEN, so don't miss out!

(4) the name you posted under (please sign your post if you post as "anonymous")

If I do not receive your information, your response to today's blog will *not* be entered in the weekly drawing.

Only one entry per person per day will be counted. Personal information will remain private, will only be used to contact the weekly winner(s), and will be discarded thereafter.

This Week's Winners!

This week's Announcement List winner - selected at random from the members of the CL Wilson announcement list - is (drum roll, please) .... Linda Parish, Mountain Home, AK!!!!! Congratulations Linda!

This week's Blog winner - selected at random from the individuals who submitted comments on the daily countdown blog posts this week. I decided to pick two winners for this week. (What can I say? I'm getting excited about the upcoming release.) The two winners are: Julie Guan, Alhambra, CA, and Megan Shipman, Vancouver, WA. Congratulations ladies!

Question of the Day:

I believe in magic and miracles (or, if you want to be more scientific about it, the energy/power of the collective subconscious and/or the world). I believe some people possess gifts/senses beyond the normal scope of human perception (the ability to "smell" cancer - a friend of mine can do this, though she never knew it until she her husband died from cancer then was so attuned to it, she could detect the smell in others; the ability to hear things others can't - my sister, whom I call "dog ears," hears the high frequency electronic signal of the anti-theft alarms in department stores...I keep threatening to get a dog whistle and blow it when she's around.) One of my good friends is a gifted psychic, and she's given talks to our writers group before about the paranormal and psychic gifts - clairaudience, clairvoyance, clairsentience, telepathy, etc.

Regardless of the special gift, it's always fascinating to me to hear people's stories, because once you bring up the subject in any group, I can guarantee someone in that group will have experienced something they can't explain / or some special ability.

What is the most magical / miraculous / inexplicable event that's ever happened to you - or special gift you or someone you know possesses? (You skeptics can still post even if you've never experienced anything or know anyone who did. Just say your a skeptic. I won't hold it against you - *gg* )

My great-grandmother was a prayer healer. People from all over our area used to come and see her when they were ill. In an odd turn of events she was killed crossing the street to get to church.
My grandmother, and her grandmother before her, knows when someone has passed on. It may sound ridiculous, but she can tell you before you even get a call when things have taken a bad turn. Keep in mind I come from New Orleans where superstition and belief in the supernatural are quite common.
I was even scratched by a poltergeist once. Was towards the back of a tomb on a tour with no one behind me. We walked out and my back was burning. I had a lovely red scratch that went from my left shoulder blade to my right hip. My aunt found this to be simply amazing.

I've had dreams that have come true. Nothing spectacular or anything and not very often. The only one I can remember with any clarity was when I was in high school. I dreamt that we were in the school library and this girl that wasn't in our class at the time was there. A few weeks later she joined the class and we went to the library to do research.

Wow, there have been alot of things that I cant realy explain. It started when I was a child in the hospital for asthma, I wasnt responding to treatment and my oxygen counts where really low, I was in bad shape. I remember waking up one night and the room seemed to be gold and black, not gold like yellow, but gold like dimmed and my grandfather was sitting beside my bed holding my hand. The thing was, he passed away 2 years before that. A warm feeling seemed to radiate up my arm and through my body, the next morining my couts were at 100% and I was able to go home a day after that. Since that night I seem to be senstive to things, you can laugh its ok, but it seems i can feel the energy in a place. We had a bad storm and lightning struck the playground behind our house we lost power and my neighbor comes running over saying she heard someone running upstairs in her house. I grabbed my baseball bat and went to her house the minute I stepped through the door I felt a heaviness settle on my chest, It was hard to breathe like sucking air through a straw, I had this awful feeling like something bad had happened, slowly we proceeded up the stairs, no one was there, but every door closet and cabnit was flung open wide, this person had a fear of closets. Shortly there after we were stationed in hawaii, of course we went to pearl harbor of course it is a solemn place, but to me it was so much more that feeling sad at the lives lost, again i got that feeling like breathing through a straw, I felt cold inside out and the sadness was so overwealming I cried almost the whole day throughout the whole tour. I also have dreams at times that forshadow certain events, they arent exactly whats going to happen but very similar. I have dejavu all the time and then im like wait I dreamed that. There is so much more I could tell but Ive already written a short story here :)

lets see, When I was around a year old my ear drums busted both at the same time and now I can hear high pitch noises - drives me INSANE! and Don't blow the dog whistle- once, the boy across the street did when I was about 12, I didn't know what that sound was but it HAD to stop. I came out of my house and down the street to find it. I don't know who was more shocked him or me LOL.

"Knowing" is something that has run in my family. I don't know how else to describe it. Knowing something was wrong, knowing where something lost is, knowing not to buy something, mom knew if her dad rode a motorcycle he would die, so he never rode a motorcycle. I knew I was pregnant even when Doctors said I wasnt - it was to early for a test.

One more thing to add, I am connected with my family somehow I always know when they are in trouble. I learned the hardway to always listen. I worked late one night till almost midnight on my way home I got this overwhelming feeling that I needed to see my dad, he lived on his boat at the local marina. My mind kept saying go to the late night window and pick him up some food and go see dad. I however was so tired I just went home and went to bed. Early the next morning I got a call from my uncle I didnt answer let voicemail get it but then it registered why would my uncle call this early, he was histerical, said they found your dad he drowned. I rushed to the marina and there he was under a sheet, the night before he had been drinking around midnight fell in the water by his boat and drowned. Ill never forgive myself for not going to see him that night. The next spring my husband was working on the boat all day he came home and his back was sunburned I saw a white area and said whats that He took of his shirt and there on his shoulder plain as day was a handprint as if someone had laid their hand on his shoulder. My husband doesent use sunblock it was a very surreal experience.

The most inexplicable event that's ever happened to me was back when I was in Secondary School. Some of the girls in my class were mucking around with an ouija board.

It wasn't the first time they'd done it and I hated it when they did since I always used to get headaches round when they did so. Anyway on that particular day they got a message that the school would burn down in the summer.

No one thought much about the prediction and eventually the girls got bored with the ouija board and stopped mucking around with it.

However during the summer holidays that year, I was watching the news and our school was in the headlines because it was on fire... Fortunately the firemen managed to put the blaze out before it reached the science labs and no one was hurt, but there was a lot of damage caused to the buildings.

I've never ever forgotten about it - maybe as my friends at school said it was a coincidence, but it was definately a strange one and has cemented my belief in just why you must not mess around with the spirit world.

My dog has healing powers. I found him abandoned in a parking lot as an infant puppy. I didn't know what kind of dog he was so every day was a miracle of discovery. He's been such a wonderful addition to my life. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized his penchant for healing. But he works wonders on muscle aches and random pains. When my dad reinjured his rotator cuff, I told him to pet my dog for a while. The next day, my dad experienced near-total relief from his injury.

From a family of skeptics, I was raised to believe that ghosts, and spirits don't exist and that miracles are the work of God. However, after living in the dorm that I live in, I can't say I'm a skeptic anymore. I've seen someone around my res, and my room has gotten cleaned without me touching it, the floor at least (and I've asked my roommate, it hasn't been her.) The biggest miracle that I've seen though, is my grandmother. She broke her hip last year and is in early stages of Alzheimers, so the hospital stay really messed with her head, and when i visited her she didn't know who i was. It was the same way when I went home for christmas, and when I was home at that point she didn't know who i was either. I remember standing in the kitchen and praying "God, either take her completely or give her back because I can't take seeing her like this." The next time I went to see her on reading week, she lit up as soon as she saw me, knew exactly who I was and asked me how University was going. I have never seen such a miracle, and I'm so glad that we have her back.

I definitely believe in this type of experience. I have flashes of premonition, and have friends with fantastic gifts that can sense and/or heal all kinds of things. I have trained in shamanic journeywork, which has reinforced my belief in special gifts. (As such, Christine Feehan's Dark Series has special meaning for me - I had to read the journeys aloud to my husband so he could believe my "romances" actually talked about it!) I have very good "people sense" and use that often in life. I can't imagaine a worlk in which these gifts weren't used and appreciated!

The only way I can personally relate to this topic is to say that I have a sort of Sixth Sense sometimes. I had a general feeling of unease, that I should be cautious, right before I tripped and took a bad fall once. I can also usually tell when someone is lying to me, or keeping something from me.

My cousin's husband was in an accident that should have killed him. We believe he lived because of God's grace and the power of prayer. He has a TBI,and is on disability but is able to function as a father and husband.

Better still, a little girl in our community was suffering from stage 4 Neuroblastoma less than a year ago. She is now healthy and in her last round of stem cell transplants. The tumors disappeared and the doctor's could not explain it.

I have the gift of being able to heal animals, and call to the dead. My daughters best friend killed himself. She was devastated. I took her to my secret faerie garden where my alter is and called him to her so she could get the closure she so badly needed.I told her to just talk to him like he was standing there beside her. As soon as she did a soft wind began to blow and you could smell the very distinct cologne he always wore, and all of my wind chimes began to sing. It was very magical (did I mention I'm a witch lol). I also had an encounter with a wild coyote. My husband and I saw him get hit by a truck. We pulled over and totally against my husbands wishes I went to him. He was broken and dying. I sat there on the road side beside him and he moved his head into my lap. I cried as he passed for there was nothing I could do for him. But, just before he died he reached up and licked my face as if to say thank you for being here. He's buried in my backyard now. With his own tomb stone and a ton of crystals. He is my protector and often visits me in my dreams.

I do believe in magic and I do believe we all have it. I think adulthood takes it away from some and makes it stronger in others. Our brains represent 3% of the body's weight and uses 20 % of the body's energy. Something's goin' on up there :)

When I was 19, I was really into blogging, and I did it, like, every night. I wrote a minimum of 3 pages of what happened to me that day (or things I was thinking about) and gave myself special props if I managed 10 pages.

I met many people who became good friends of mine. Some I still talk to, and some I don't.

A young man left a comment on my blog, and since we had similar interests (in books), I sent him an email. As I was looking at his own blog, I got upset, and I told my friend (conveniently standing nearby) that I was going to marry tnis guy one day.

She thought I was joking, and I played it off like I was. In the next year, I brought it up a couple of other times, despite the fact that I was not emailing him very frequently. Once every few months, maybe.

One day my friend asked me why I was so upset about him, and I said because I didn't want to marry him. And she was like, "Why do you think you are going to, then?" I said I just knew, and it made me kind of mad, because I didn't love him or anything.

She thought I was being ridiculous. I hadn't so much as met him face to face or talked to him on the phone or anything. Just a few comments, a couple of emails (none of a romantic nature). I didn't tell anyone else. (And especially not him! Didn't want to give him any ideas.)

But I did marry him two years later. By then I did love him. And I'm glad I didn't do something drastic like cancel my blog and run away.

I distinctly remember what I felt like at that time. I was so upset. Like seeing my own future bearing down on me, and I didn't want it.

Silly girls should just take the gifts that are handed to them, and not fight it too much.

I am not sure if I would call it a gift.... but I, like each female family member before me, have a very high level of empathy. Great-grandma said I was one of the strongest and so I had to be even more a devote in my Christain beliefs because only the Lord could keep my devils gift from surfacing. I have always suffered depression. I embraced my gift several years ago, and since I have and learned a little bit of controling it. I am a much happy person, although I still feel everything around me, which is why when someone offers an insult it sends my temper out of control. But I am getting better. :)

I can't really say I'm a skeptic, truly, because I believe in miracles. Not magic, but miracles. I believe in prayer and answered prayer and some may call the results one thing while others have a different word.

My mom tells of her old house when growing up. It was built on one of the many sites of conflict during the Civil War and there was one room that the door would not stay locked. It would be locked securely and in minutes would once again be unlocked.

In their home they live in now (and the one I lived in from the time I was a teen), she swears (and I have my moments) they have a ghost. I know this isn't quite the same thing as Cheryl was talking about, but it goes along that same line to me - the supernatural. Anyway, we can hear footsteps in the hall at times. I was getting ready for school one morning and knew there wasn't supposed to be anyone else in the house and I heard someone coming down the hall at a rather fast pace. Needless to say, my heart was racing and when I ran to shut the door, there was no one there, and the footsteps stopped. I'm not saying I believe in ghosts, but the bible does mention principalities and powers, so I'll say I'm open on that subject.

While I am not a total skeptic and do believe that there are many things out there that are beyond our comprehension, I can't say that I know anyone who has a special gift (even though I know many people who claim to have one).

What others may call magic or miracles I call God's mercy, grace and benevolence. There have been many instances in my life where things could have gone very, very badly for either myself or my family but didn't and that I attribute to the power of prayer and God's mercy.

I do however enjoy reading about other peoples experiences and the comments so far have been fascinating!

Colleen - very interesting. I am a very strong believer in the power of prayer, and have several "healing thru prayer" stories from within my own family. On the "supernatural" front, my sister (she of "dog ears" fame) knew when my grandfather passed away. We lived in Atlanta, and he was in Texas. She was in her room studying, when she said she got a strange feeling, and looked up to see Grandpa sitting on the edge of her bed. A knock sounded at the door, and when she looked back, Grandpa was gone. She opened the door to my parents, and said "I know. You're coming to tell me Grandpa just died." and they were.

Beckey -very cool. I have had several occasions of "precognition". Times when I knew, with inexplicable certainty, how something was about to unfold. The one thing I've noticed is that when what I feel is true, there's a strange sort of calm that comes over me. The kind of calm that makes me unsurprised when what I just said actually does occur. Now I just wish I could know some lottery numbers! LOL

kneazle22 - *very* interesting. I'll get more out of your offline. And your addendum about your dad sent chills up my spine.

Angie G. - LOL...I guess I'd better not blow the whistle around Lisette, then :p And "knowing" makes perfect sense. (I've had a few episodes of "knowing" - but far less frequently than you.) Later on, I will have to do a "psychic series" and invite some friends to come guest blog.

Windwanderer - I confess, ouija boards are something I don't mess with. For whatever reason, they scare me, so I stay away from them.

Smutne reader - Now *that* is very interesting. It's well documented that animals have highly attuned senses, but I've never heard of a "healing" pet before. What a blessing!

Heather - Did you stop seeing / dreaming because you wanted to?

Bethany - I guess I've never believed that ghosts/spirits and god are mutally exclusive. I do believe that what some people call "magic", others call "miracles" or "the power of prayer". Just different sides of the same coin, or different views through the same window :) I'm glad your prayer for your grandmother was heard.

Kathi - very interesting. I would like to talk with you about your shamanic journeywork some time.

Jilly - sixth sense

Red - i'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. My aunt (the one my family lovingly calls "The Church Lady") was discovered to have several masses in her breast. She went to her church and the congregation prayed and laid hands on her. When she went for the biopsy a day or so later, the surgeon couldn't find anything there - the masses had completely disappeared. Similarly, my father was operated on to remove a tumor from his lung. He'd had melanoma, and the doctors believed it had spread to his lungs (which is terminal). The initial tests conducted by the hospital said the tumor was melanoma. But a week--and many prayers with his church and family later - dad's followup lab results came back saying - not cancer.

Julie - what a blessing to have such gifts. :) And wow on the coyote. (I would have been afraid to touch it, but what a wonderful experience for you.)

Oldbull - yep. :)

Sunset - Now that is indeed interesting. I knew my husband about six weeks before we started dating. We would go out w/groups of friends to play billiards, dance, etc., just have fun. Within a week of us actually "dating", I went to my father and told him "This is the man i'm going to marry." (I had dated LOTS of guys before, and had never made such a claim to anyone in my life - certainly not to my dad.) Within 3 weeks of starting to date, Kevin and I were looking for wedding rings. We wed less than a year after we first met, and have been married for 17 years this Nov 7. We've had our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade him for anything.

When I was a senior in high school, my best friend was very psychic--had real premonitions all the time. While I knew her, I experienced two psychic-type episodes.

1. I dreamed of being sexually assaulted by a person that I didn't know, but in the dream I did. 36 hours later, the newspaper reported an assault with the same details I dreamed. And as in my dream, guy was known to victim and already in custody.

2. In the same month (December), I dreamed of a garage catching fire and burning into an empty house. I woke up around 3am sweating from the "fire" to find fire trucks rushing to a fire down the street. The family was out of town for the holidays, and the fire had started in the garage.

Melissa - IMO, all gifts come from God, and I'm glad you're learning to control yours. It's very difficult to be so empathic that other people's emotions affect your own physical / mental / emotional well-being. I've had some readers call Ellie a wimp before - but to me, if you knew what harm a harsh word could cause, if you felt other's pain, the last thing you would want to do would be to cause more pain. Kind of like creating a rod for your own back. :)

Mailbeeme - I've never personally seen / sensed / experienced a ghostly encounter. (on that front, I apparently have the psychic sensitivity of a rock) but I know people I trust who have (Lisette included), so I remain open minded on the subject.

Noreen - I used to be much more skeptical than I am. Over the years, I have had one too many experiences, seen one too many things with my own eyes not to believe.

I have a very very keen sense of smell. I remember driving with my family on a trip several years ago, I was casually sitting in the back seat with my younger sister when all of a sudden, I sat up straight. "Strawberries!" I yelled. Everyone was like "HUH?! What are you blabbing about?" I kept telling everyone that there was a field of strawberries nearby. After about 5 minutes of driving we saw a big sign that said there was a strawberry farm up ahead. That was the more pleasant side of my sniffing skills - I can also smell the moment when things start burning and I've warned my mother that her candle is about to cause a small fire... she was able to find the candle that was starting to burn the lampshade tassels. A yucky but useful thing I do with my nose is sniff the air in the house to double check that my dogs and cats did not leave any "messes" or track them inside :P I must be part bloodhound...or something else

My twin sister and I share a "sense" of each other. There are times when we can sense one or the other may be having a down day or some stressful situation and then call and find that indeed that is the case.

On the healing/prayer front, my uncle had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and two days prior to having surgery a group of men from his church encircled him and prayed the whole evening. The next day he had a CT scan done and there was absolutely nothing! The surgery was canceled and follow up CTs never showed any other signs of the pancreatic cancer.

Ok, so I don't have any kind of special abilities, but I was told I would never have kids, because my eggs weren't viable. I wasn't active in church then, but I still had the missionaries over for dinner every now and then. After dinner one night one of the missionaries asked me and my hubby about our lack of children. I explained that i was infertile and i wouldn't be able to have any. That missionary then told me that if I came back to church, paid my tithes, and really tried to do what Heavenly Father wanted me to, I would be blessed with a baby. I kinda laughed him off, but I did go back to church. (Because I was ready to get my life on the right track! Within a month of really going to church and trying to do God's will, I was pregnant. I have a wild little three year old boy. That is my miracle!

I love believing in the paranormal, miracles, and whatever else you might call it.

Myself, I get twinges if I'm about to win something [of a smaller size; like a quilt, or a set of bears or something...no lottery luck as of yet, lol], and I've also had several splashes of deja vu. It's just that "Wait...I've been here. This has happened before" feeling. Normally it's because I've dreamed of said moment before it happens.

I have sensitive ears as well, not quite as much as your "dog ears" sister, Cheryl...but most times, sitting in front of the computer drives me bonkers and gives me headaches.

Other than that, I'm sad to say I haven't really experienced much of anything else...though there are a few special places I'd love to visit the Gilliland Ranch in Washington State; experiences there would be thrilling, I'm sure.

Truth be told, I've always wanted to use a Ouija board, but I've been warned by close friends not to. Chances are most likely I'll be taking their advice...I've seen things go wrong before. ^^;

My older sister and I always been able to sense ghosts. The first house we lived in was built on Indian land. They would to walk past my sister's bedroom door. We would sit and watch them, they always looked so sad.
We later moved to an 80 yr old house in Kannapolis,NC. There were probably 8 or 9 ghosts in that house. There was a little girl, an old man, a shadow, a man with a hat, an old woman, a spot of light, and several others. The little girl and the man with a hat used to sit in a corner of my room and talk. Very annoying when you are trying to sleep, esp when you can't quite hear what they are saying. The man w/hat (we called him Freddy) liked to stick his head through walls to scare people. The shadow felt like Death.

We sometimes had people over for the night. Only our Wicca friend ever came back.

"I chat with the Chatelaines."
I have had dreams or feelings which usually link to something as it happens or just before it happens. The first time was when I was 5. On my birthday I dreamed about my uncle being killed in battle in Korea. The next morning I told my parents and was punished for saying such an awful thing. My grandparents got notification that day of his death. He was killed the way I saw it.
I have friends who read auras and who see and talk to ghosts ghosts.
At an early age, all of us were discouraged from talking about what we could do or see. As a result, we've not developed these gifts as much as possible.

I can't remember anything strange happening to me, or to those around me, however, my Dad likes to tell a story about how when I was really young, maybe 3 or 4, we were going to the beach. We had to drive through this small canyon to get there and as we did, I pointed out the window and said something like "Daddy, see the bad men". Now, at the time there was no one there, but apparently it's local history that years ago, like before turn of the 20th century, some criminals set up shop in the caves in the canyon. And were eventually hunted down/killed there.

But other than that, and a true love of stories with magic or psychic gifts, not much.

I usually have vivid, crazy dreams. But once when I was 10, I dreamt of the pool in our backyard. I had just one vision of it, focused on a certain spot. No sound, no action, no feeling, just the scene of the pool that never wavered from that spot. I woke up and shrugged it off as strange. But a couple hours later I was out there with my 3 year old sister when she reached to grab one of the balls floating around the edge and fell in. I jumped in after her, and got her out. Luckily, she was fine. It wasn't until I'd recovered from the shock I realized she fell in the exact spot I'd dreamed of all night.

If I say that something is going to happen (without thinking about it), it usually does; especially if it's very unlikely.

It's a really weird phenomenon, and I have to watch what I say on the off chance that it will come true; otherwise, I feel like I caused it to happen.

Sometimes I feel like Kane, the Keeper of Disaster, from Gena Showalter's "Lords of the Underworld" series, except that if I watch what I say, disaster does not strike.

Whee, thanks so much!! This was great news to wake up to, lemme tell ya.

I don't really recall any distinct experiences with anything non-corporeal, but I do have strong "feelings" sometimes, along with intense moments of déjà vu. I can sympathize with your sister, as one of my friends called me a "dog" because I kept cringing at high pitched sounds that none of the other people in our group could hear.

Also, may I still email you my entries? If not, I'll just stick to posting comments on your blog. :) Thanks again!

My brother told me recently he had dreamed of sitting beside a friend in his car and telling him urgently to stop racing like mad when he is drunk. Then a few days later, his friend told him he was racing around that night.

I wonder if this was chance or if my bro indeed somehow had delivered a warning in his sleep. My brother is a very down-to-earth guy and somewhat macho. It's strange and amusing to think of him doing something uncanny.

Two things spring to mind. The first, a few years ago I got really sick. Had test after test trying to find out what was wrong. Everything kept coming back normal. One day my mother had this odd little moment and the words pernicious anemia floated through her head. Couple of days later that is what I was diagnosed with. My Great-grandmother had it. My mother believes that her grandmother was trying to tell my mother what was wrong with me.
The second is when our dog passed away a few years ago. He was completely devoted to my mother. Always had to know where she was. For a few weeks after his death I kept catching him out of the corner of my eye. Always in the same place. Sitting in the doorway watching over my mother.

I have a connection to my grandmother, who died when I was a baby; I barely remember much about her, in my life, other than pictures, my dad's stories, etc. But I still feel her around me. One night, while having horrible nightmares, I suddenly realized grandma was in the room with me. She sat down next to me and said, "Don't worry, honey. They can't hurt you." Next second, she was gone.

But you know what? ;) So were the nightmares. And... that's my story.

I feel that when I pray for some one other then myself that it comes true. ie. My freinds children are autistic and one has not talked in all 10 years of life. I put him on my prayer list and the doctors said he should be talking well in a half year.

Cassandra - That's the first time I've ever heard of psychic-experience by association. How interesting though. (and creepy - the dreams sound like they would have scared me!)

Amy Kathryn - So Lisette's Dog Ears aren't quite as unique as I thought! *gg* Very interesting about you and your mom and the pick up the phone/there she is thing.

Josie - Makes you go "hmmm," doesn't it? :)

H - I confess I participated in a seance or two as a kid. Scared the bejeebers out of myself the time my girlfriend's mom came down in curlers and face-masque. We all screamed bloody murder! LOL.

Klaudina - very interesting. (All I can think of is stinky feet. LOL. Hope you can tune those out! *gg*)

Pam P. - You and Lisette have quite a few things in common, but her deja vu is very frequent, and she has had numerous occasions of "XYZ is about to come in and say ABC" and he did. Useless premonitions for the most part, though.

Syraina - very cool about the family business. I'd be intersted in hearing about some of their investigations. I have a friend who sees ghosts - she's a Reiki master, psychic and Wiccan. Through her, I met another friend who is a medium from Alabama. She does automatic writing and table tipping as well.

Amanda - babies *are* miracles, aren't they?

Susan - I don't 'sense' my sister, but when Lisette and i are together, we constantly complete each others' sentences.

God bless your uncle and the people who prayed with him. I have heard so many of these kinds of stories, that I just can't believe it's all "hospital error" or "mistaken diagnosis."

Anna - what a blessing, indeed!

Tanya - twinges count! One of the books I'm reading say psychic awareness (like any mental skill) can be enhanced through practice and meditation. I started meditating to relieve stress and get my creativity flowing again last year, but I have become calmer and more attuned to my own intuition as a result.

Deborah - I am officially scared of visiting your house! LOL. Actually, it would be very interesting, but as I said, I have all the spectral sensitivity of a rock. I probably wouldn't see anything!

Princess Erika - that counts! Being able to read people so clearly is a gift.

Library Pat - Do you wish you had worked on your gift? i'm not sure if the talent is one that can ever be completely cut off, though I understand it can be supressed.

April C - they say that children are "open" to many things adults close their mind to. It does raise a question in my mind about "imaginary friends" and what not.

Rach - interesting. I don't remember most of my dreams for very long after waking. The ones that I do, I pay attention to.

Tracy - very intersting. If you say it, you make it come true? Now *that* would be an interesting talent for the hero or heroine of a novel.

Julie -
CONGRATULATIONS! :) And of course you may keep entering.

Gemmifer - that could be a very useful talent.

Sassy Eggs & Juliane - very interesting. I like the idea that our grandparents and loved ones look out after us even after they've passed on.

Jenn M. - prayer is important. I pray often for others, for guidance for myself, for help and healing for the ones I love.
