Hmmm though I believe many people will say this, I would most likely go as Elysetta, and not only because she has Rain :-). I would love to go in the outfit all of her bloodsworn Fey create for her. That would be an amazing bit of attire. Come on, I'd get to carry blades, dress in leather, and color my hair red for the first time in years. Yep Ellie it is.

I would like to be Elysetta as well however I would settle for any beautiful, intelligent women that would attract the single men.;-)

I would go as Steli :)

Happy Halloween to everyone, this is my favorite day of the year.

I would have to go with Ellie as well. I love a woman that can show the world she is just as fierce as a man when riled, but that we still have a soft and loving side as well.

As much as I would like to be Elysetta, I think I would go as Marissa. She's a better fit to me. I get a handsome husband, a wonderful son, a brother restored, great friends, and I find out I'm pregnant with a Tairen Soul. I think that I would wear her red dress and veil.

I would go as Elly. I already have the leathers (in black) and throwing knives (I do martial arts and SCA). My hair is long and curly (VERY curly ugh) tho I am a dark auburn not red.

Hum.. I never thought of wearing my real stuff for a costume! I wonder if the police would get upset when I show up with all the swords and knives strapped on *laughs*.

Here is an "out of the box" thought...I would like to dress in a way that would intrigue Gaelen to believe he had found his soulmate. Hey a girl can dream!

I think I would like to go as SWteli. I like to dress up as other than human on holloween. This character would be a challange to create.

Definitely Elysetta. Powerful as well ass beautiful. A combination I can't resist.

I know its out of the box but I would go as Elfya. Captured, cornered, tortured and demeaned she is strong, resilient, steadfast and the very light of her truemates existence. The rock on which he depends for his very sanity. Her love is unbending and unbreakable and she has a daughter any Fey mother would be proud of.

Hm...I would go as Fellana the Bright! I have a tendency to dress as historic characters (today I'm dressed as a Roman Empress, as a matter of fact); and I think her story is so interesting.

I would definitely go as Steli-chakai! She's powerful and playful! Also, Halloween in Madison is COLD!!! So wearing a Tairen costume is much more preferable to other beings. If not Steli, I would go as Marissya, not only because she is beautiful and was the leaders of the Shei'dalins but also because she wears all read that is the color for Madison!

What a great question! I would choose to be Rain-- although I am a woman I have had many trials forged in steel over my lifetime and his strength and character would appeal to my own innner strength! ~Gia~

Well, I don't really like her, but I think it would be cool to go as Queen Annoura when she is dressed like the moon with all the diamonds everywhere. It would certainly be an elaborate costume! :)

I may be a chick, but I usually go as an awesome male character from something, and honestly, this year, I have chosen to go as....(drum roll please)

Belliard vel Jelani! No doubt, ask any of my family, I have a blue sash (had to make up on own thing because the attire of the Fey is ....difficult to pay off with no money) I have black sweats pulled up to my calves with tall lace-up boots, a jerken and vest and real sword sheathes at both hips! I'm SO happy! And everyone is lookingat me like I'm nutz, but if I know who I am, that's all that matters! Happy Halloween and blessed be!

I know what you mean by not wanting to be cold for halloween. I spent most of my life in Colorado where you can't ever see the kids' costumes because they are bundled up in winter coats. I definitely am enjoying the warmer weather of Georgia!

I would pick something more powerful than a Tairen..... The Eye! It would be a fitting and challenging costume to work out, complete with a powerful aura.

Ellysetta, of course, I have red hair so the costume would be easy with a green velvet dress and maybe some whiskers. :D

It seems to me like among the Fey they seem to dress a lot alike. I mean, the warriors and the shei'dalins...there's kind of a stereotype. How do you even have a personal style underneath all those fey'cha? How would you know if someone was Gaelen or Bel or Rowan or Adrial or whomever just by their clothes?

Anyway, Archie and I don't celebrate Hallowe'en. Even if we were going to a non-Hallowe'en costume party that was also not around the same time as Hallowe'en, I really couldn't see us dressing as any of the Tairen Soul characters.

The problem is that while that sounds fun, even casually donning someone else's apparel implies a condoning or support of their beliefs and actions...and that's really why I don't see myself dressing up.

But, in the interest of answering the question...in a hypothetical situation that somehow called for us to dress as Tairen Soul book characters...

Archie says he would dress as Vadim Maur or Captain Batay. (He's so dark!)

I would pick...Fezaiina Zebah Rael. Colorful silken veils sounds pretty. I guess I'm dark, too.

I've actually just gotten back from a Halloween party where I went as a Nature Fairy.

If I had dressed as a character from the books however, then I would have loved to dress as Marissya v’En Solande

So I feel so repetitive saying this as its been said about a dozen times, but I'd want to go as Elly, not only because of her blade toting outfit (which every time I read of I wish of owning) but because I would ride in on Rain's black rich back or that of any great tairens would suffice. It would be marvelous.

one of my facebook friends sent me pix of her 2 year old dressed as a tairen kitling. She was adorable! (And the costume was cute too)

Sunset, Thanks for participating, even though it's not your cuppa. :) I will say, thought, that if I went to a party dressed as Jack the Ripper, I certainly hope no one would ever think I'm condoning his beliefs or actions.

I agree that the Fey warriors would look very similar - same as any military uniform would. The Fey do wear other clothing in their own country. Rain and Ellysetta would both be identifiable, but the others less so.

I did have a friend come to DragonCon as a shei'dalin, and another came as a Fey warrior :) It was a hoot!

I think I'd like to dress up as Ellysetta...but until I lose a few (cough cough) pounds, I'd probably be better off going as a tairen! LOL :) maybe Sybharukai.

Before I comment, I just wanted to say .... I HAVE IT! I HAVE IT! I had despaired of getting QoSS before Nov. 9, but I found a copy at Shoppers Drug Mart, of all places!

Hmmm, I am too short and too ... round (need to lose a lot of pounds!) to go as a Fey so perhaps a tairen might be better :D.

Happy Halloween everyone! Now I'm off to devour QoSS!

Being a short, pudgy brunette, dressing as any of the Fey would be a stretch, although I suppose those Shei'dalin red robes and veil would hide a lot of sins (or should I say, candy bars? ;P).

So, for practical reasons, the Shei'dalin outfit would work best. But going as Ellysetta in the spirit gown Bel wove for her in the first novel would be awesome. And it might save me a few explanations, as others would just assume I was just some medieval princess.
