King of Sword and Sky Release Countdown - The ZERO HOUR!

The moment the huge, glowing orange ball of the Great Sun touched the horizon, the waters of the Bay of Flames lit up as if they'd caught fire. Across the vast expanse, dolphins and whales broke the surface of the waves to watch the sun's descent and dance on the fiery waves.

"It truly is magic," Ellysetta whispered as tingling warmth and breathtaking wonder washed over her.

"
Aiyah. Every night, so long as the Fading Lands still exist, this is Lissallukai's great and lasting gift to this world: a moment of pure magic to celebrate the greatest magic of all."

Enchanted, Ellysetta turned to Rain, her body bobbing and sliding against him in the rhythmic rock of the waves. "What is the greatest magic?"

"Life, Ellysetta." His hands slid up to cup her face and carry her lips to his. "And love."

Her arms wound about his neck, holding him close. All the world around them burned with the cooling fire of the setting sun, while between Rain and Ellysetta the now familiar flame of passion ignited.

"
Aiyah, she murmured against his lips. "The greatest magic."

Actually, I purchased my copy on Friday. One of my local stores put it out early, so I bought that and the new Lynsay Sands book that releases today. I haven't had a chance to start it yet though. I want to read Lord and Lady again first and had some books I had to read for work before I could start them.

Oh MY Goodness!!! I'm so excited! It's finally here!...I'm really happy because I'm already reading it, and its super good. I was shocked because I went to Barnes and Noble just looking around Sunday, not expecting it to be there, but I passed it on the shelf and I freaked. I thought it was one of those preorder boxes, like how they do with video games. My mom was in the store with me so I grabbed it and sprinted to show her (I walked as fast a barnes and noble would allow...) I was scared they had made a mistake about putting it out too early and they wouldn't let me buy it so I acted like a Ninja all the way to the checkout. I even called my boyfriend, and he laughed and called me a lucky dog. (I'm having him read it too..and he likes it!)

So yes I have my copy, and it is GREAT so far!
Thanks C.L!
(and p.s, that grand prize sounds like the best thing ever, you are so sweet CL to your fans, YOU should be the one getting a awesome gift basket!)

Excellent!
I got my copy a couple of days ago and read it quickly. Now I'm rereading it already. It was such a great book that I'm hoping to go ahead and preorder Queen once my next paycheck comes in. It is going to be difficult to wait until June to continue the story, but that's half the fun of reading a new series I suppose.
If you ever come to or near Auburn, Al for a booksigning, then I'll have to go see you.

Though I considered pre-ordering, I'm instead going to the bookstore tonight with a friend to buy a copy. That way we keep up our weekly book browsing tradition. The anticipation until then is going to kill me though.

I was actually so impatient to get the new book that I re-read Lord and Lady when I first ordered King on the 17th...Well, it was a good thing i did, because my copy of King came in on the 22nd. I stayed up all night and read the whole thing before I let myself sleep. I'm sad to say that I still haven't gotten my sleeping schedule fixed....lol.
But seriously, King really went above and beyond my expectations. I actually keep the books with my all-time favorite novels so I can easily find them. I would love to have them autographed, but so far I don't think you have a scheduled stop close to where I live :(
Well, there is still Queen to go ^_^
Maybe, I can travel when it comes out since it will be released almost on my birthday :P
I'll be anxiously waiting the new novel and driving my husband crazy about it until June.

I can't go out much due to the gas shortages around here (be careful when you come up next week), but I am definitely DEFINITELY driving to Borders to get the books today!! who knows, maybe the will even have cleared up the gas problem!)

Yup, I have my copy and I already read it! It arrived for me from Amazon on Sept. 19th. I wasn't expecting them to be shipping it so soon so I wasn't able to read it until a few days later because I was in the middle of rereading the first two books to refresh my mind of your world.

The book is absolutely wonderful! Everyone who hasn't read it yet is in for a real treat. I hope you'll put up a post at a later time where we'll be able to talk about it with spoilers.

I am extremely excited about the fact that King of Sword and Sky is now available! I have been waiting and waiting. I am certain many others have as well and that there are others who deeply love this series, however I must say that I connected with this series and these characters on an epiphanic level. It sounds crazy and certainly "out there" to say, but it's true. They spoke to me in a way that touched my soul deeply. CL Wilson, you have created a masterpiece. It really is an epic series covering the best and worst in people across radically divergent cultural lines. Thank you for this wonderful series. Thank you for continuing it. Ironically enough, I may just wait a wee bit to acquire this latest release, only because I know that I will be distraught when I reach the end and there are still 265 days to go until the next one! :-) You are marvelous, CL Wilson. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

They're currently residing on my To Be Read shelf in my home library and they're doing their best to torment and tempt me. I shall not be distracted from the last few chapters of Paolini's new release, Brisingr. At least, that's what I'm trying to tell myself... It looks like it might be a losing battle, though.

I had "King of Sword and Sky" pre-ordered from Amazon just about the moment they put it up on their site. (Kept going to Amazon and searching until it finally came up). Amazon shipped it last week for some reason, on 9/17 so I have it and read it...

I have "Queen of Song and Souls" already pre-ordered with the date of its release already marked in my "Author's Calendar" [currently 37 books on this list] where I keep track of books I pre-order or need to pre-order.

"King of Sword and Sky" is awesome, answers so many questions and raises a whole host of others. It definitely is worth reading multiple times just to pick up all the nuances and information. Can't wait for "Queen of Song and Souls", now!!!

First, in your response to yesterdays post about conventions, I'd like to say I really hope you make your way out here to Chicago. I've never been to a novel book signing in my life, but if you came, I'd go! So please visit Chicago one of these days?!? Pretty please with sugar on top?
As for King, I went to Borders books today to get my copy and was so disappointed when I found that they didn't have it. The lady said there was some mix up on shipping dates but my guess is, the staff at Borders got first pick on those copies! Yes, I know, bad of me to say that but I've been waiting for so long to read this book that I was out for blood if I didn't get a copy. But thankfully later I called a Barnes and Noble bookstore and they put a copy aside for me. I drove there and got it immediately. Thank goodness for kind people and book stores that order extra! So now I have a copy as I log in tonight and lo and behold, I see I won a copy autographed by you! After jumping out of my chair and waking the neighbors with the big whoop of joy I just had to let out, I'm commenting to say thank you!! I'll wait for the copy of King to come in the mail and then be generous and give my copy out to someone who I know desperately wants to it.
Congrats again on King's release! As you can tell, its flying off shelves. Now we get to watch and see where King lands on the best sellers list.

I am sad to say it, but my 'release' date is still almost a month away :( But in terms of time, that's a drop of water in the fountain of time, so I suppose I will just have to keep busy until I can get back to a place that will sell it. Or maybe I'll be super lucky and the Base Exchange will stock it. I'll have to keep an eye out. I'm happy to be heading home though, it's been long enough for me, and I've had a short deployment.

Can't wait to get my hands on the book, lots of luck with Queen!

I thought i was the only one who had the experience of finding it early, I had checked every time I went to barnes and noble because I was impatient, but I see my store wasnt the only one to set it out early, I too sneaked like a ninja to the counter, paid and went home to immediately read it in one day. AWESOME read, never even expected some of those twists. I think I will start reading the first one again, just for soomething to do til the final book is out
