King of Sword and Sky Release Countdown (T -8)

**The Fey have a saying: 'The slopes of Fey'Bahren run dark with the blood of enemies, fools, and prey.' Which may have something to do with the fact that a tairen's idea of negotiation is a warning growl before he rips and roasts you with fang and flame.**

Definitely at the end when Elly kicked ass. Everyone got to see what she really is and it was spectacular =)

Hmmm, sooo many, as in LORD...

I think my favorite scene would have to be Rain's gifting Ellie the 3 pearls, and the explanation that goes with them, followed on its heels by their courtship afternoon swimming, with all its playfulness and beauty.

It is really difficult to pick one scene as my favorite, but if I had to choose only one it would be the scene when Ellysetta's power is finally unleashed, and Rain sees her for the first time as completely fey.

That is a very powerful scene, and reading about there new communion sucks me right in every time I read it.

Holy Mazola, I can't believe I won again! Thank you Cheryl!

What is my favourite scene from Lady? Again it's really hard to pick just one because I absolutely love the entire book, period.

From Rain comforting Ellie after she realizes what happened at the palace dinner the night before, to Ellie giving Gaelen back his soul, to finding out who Ellie's real parents are, to - heck the entire last half of the book! - I love every single word of it.

But, if I had to pick just one scene it would have to be when Rain tells Ellie his "heart has followed where his soul has led". Gah! I was just a puddle of mush when I finished reading that.

Can I also mention here, how much I adore Shan and Elfeya? How flabbergasted and in awe I was when I found out who Ellie's real parents were? Cheryl, you truly are an amazing writer and storyteller.

It would have to be the last chapter. It shows her strength, love, loyalty, and compassion. As well as the humility, devotion and forgiveness that Rain learns. It strengthens the bond between them even more.

The best part of that chapter, is when Ellie comes into her full power on the death of her adopted mother. You see her vast power finally unleashed, and you see that she is more of a force to deal with then Rain.

Then my favorite, is when the "arrogant high handed lords" are mouthing off about the fey destroying there most sacred temple, and in two commanding words "Be Silent"! You see that she has become the Feyreisa of the Fey in more then just words.

Wow... that's a hard question. I love both books all the way through. I would say though that the last chapter of Lady was just thrilling. I was on the edge of my soft seat, trying to finish the book at 3 a.m. in the morning! The ending was all that we could have wished for. Can't wait for the next two books and will probably miss some sleep as I get so engrossed in Ms. Wilson's stories!

I can't choose between Elly giving Gaelen back his soul, where he who thought he had seen everything dark and light was surprised by her gift, and Elly finally manifesting as the powerful creature she is when her foster mother is killed. What I really like best I guess is how well the tragic and the humorous as well as the noble are woven together in these books. I am so looking forward to the 30th!.

I honestly couldn't say which part was my favorite, but the most emotional part for me was when Rain found out about Ellie's being born in Eld, and he was so upset he abandoned her. I had the same experience as Haley, except my boyfriend was awake, and I think he still laughs at me behind my back for that. I can’t remember all of the specifics but I really liked the part when Ellie went to the temple to do her wedding stuff and her mother and friend tricked her into doing a exorcism. I remember thinking ‘OH CRAP!’. It got kinda dicey and I thought I’d freak when her quintet finally realized she was in trouble and were trying to get past the door. Definitely climax of the plot. I was literally hanging on the edge of my seat.

I have several favorite scenes but if I have to narrow it down to one it would be the one where Elly's father, knowing the risk to himself, helped her to be strong and fight the mage's attempt to control her followed by the revelation of her power and identity. The emotions just seemed to jump off the pages.

OH! and the ending when Ellie comes into her power and Rain realizes she is Tairen!

The Air weave around them dispersed, and the warm summer breeze swirled over them, fragrant with the scent of daisies and the verdant freshness of the glade. He lowered her to the soft, thick grass and leaned over her. His long, dark hair draped down around them like veils of ebony silk. Warmth infused the pale, perfection of his face, melting all remnants of cold aloofness, leaving stark, burning beauty, unshielded need, and the fiery intensity of his eyes.

By far, my favorite part was when Ellie burst past the conditioning and the restrictions on her magic. The glamor that made her appear Celierian dropped away, and her true beauty (and nature) was exposed for all to see.

The revelation that she was Tairen Soul - the first female ever recorded - surprised me, but in retrospect should not have. A shei'tani is equal in power to her shei'tan.

Yet the truth was written so cunningly that it was hidden even from me - and I pride myself on figuring out the twist in a story before it is revealed!

Okay so because I Have to pick only One scene, I think my favorite was when Ellie's powers manifested to give Gaelen his soul back. Something that surprised everyone and was a gift beyond compare. The book was too good to have one favorite part. I read it front to back numerous times because each step in the story was so amazing. I'd have to say a few of the most memorable parts were; when Elly's biological parents have part of their story told with their love, mate bond, and sacrifices, Elly manifests her powers in many amazing ways (flirting, shei'dalin blessing, Gaelen, the ultimate unveil of identity, and more amazing moments), poor Rain is a little out of touch with diplomacy. The entire book is just too good to divide in anyway by what is best.

In tLoLaS I enjoyed how Ellysetta's character matured. In tLotFL she is still very much a wide eyed girl, but she really grows a backbone in this book.So my favorite scenes are where she starts to kick butt. Ex. I too have a hard time choosing a favorite scene. 'Lady' is so well written that just about the time you want to choose one, another tugs on your heart. Though I love the story between Ellie and Rain, the secondary characters of the story tie the stories together, bring such depth and realism.

My favorite scene though is probably the scene with Gaelen entering the city, his whole mindset, through Ellie healing him. He was so determined to take her our and yet even though he was dahl'reisen his core of honor was powerful. His longing to see his sisters and thoughts for them in what he thought were his last moments was heart-wrenching.
And once Ellie healed him, he was not above admitting a mistake--even though he could be abrasive. And his acceptance of Ellie, willingness to become to her Lu'tan and have his soul destroyed if he hurt Ellie was astonishing.

His willingness, along with Bel, to stand with Elly, even when Rain faltered, proved the honor of the lu'tan. They stood when all others faltered and saw Elly through to claiming her power.

It is that amazing scene where Ellysetta Floods the Banquet with lusty feelings HAHAHAHA oh my god I laughed out loud when I figured out what was happening. My fiance was sitting next to me reading some boring how to run faster book and i burst out laughing like a giddy school girl. He looked at me like i had gone nuts. I Loved this book from cover to cover and have been eagerly awaiting the next book its only a couple days away and im freakin excited! Thank you so much for the excerpt I printed the full 32 pages and sat out on the porch and soaked it up like a sponge.!

My favorite part out of both books has to be the way Rain is drawn to Elle. The one soul in all the world that is made for his soul. So my favorite part is in the first book when Rain feels his soul drawn to her's and he single mindedly goes after that which already belongs to him. And what is an epic love story without resistance and questing for said love, my paperback copies are worn thin, I keep reading them over and over. I find the depth of both books inspiring and amusing. They make a person want to not only fall in love but wrap your arms around that love and hold on to it kicking a screaming. Pure magic.

My favorite scene is after Rain has left and Bel tells Ellie that his and Gaelen's first priority is always her safety. No matter what Rain does, even though Rain abandoned her then, they never will. They are devoted to her and are true knights (that's how I think of them!)

I was so happy after reading that scene and was smiling until my mouth hurt because I had been so upset for Ellie when Rain left her. Even though I understood why Rain did it and knew it had to happen for their relationship to progress further....it was so good to know that Ellie had two people she could depend on for unconditional love & support in that moment.

My favorite scene is when Elly is in trouble and no one can hear her calls for desperate calls for help - no hears but then suddenly - shields shattering - she calls to her beloved and all he sees is her - time is stilled and blurred - fear creeps into his heart and he shakes - no no - and explodes into the sky a tairen racing towards his love -

My favorite scene in Lady would have to be some scene that invoved Shan and Elfeya. Not only do the readers get to see the Mage, a truely twisted individual ( his mother must not have held him enough as a baby :) ), but also what a bonded couple should behave like. I just hope that Ellie can find the same love for Rain as her parents have for each other. Can't wait 8 days!!!!!!!

ok. I'm not writing this cause i want to win something. (I doubt it would find a way to me here in germany XD)
My favorite scene in LADY is when Gaalen freaks Ellies Mom out, because its just so funny to imagine the kind of proud and arrogant look on his face. Like "_I_ am the one every kid in centuries has been afraid of." XD

I really hope I can find someone to send me the book soon, I rly don't want to wait any day longer than necessary. >.<

I loved the last scene. Elly turned into something nobody was expecting except Rain and the "guys". LOL
It was a great attention grabber!!

Wow...you guys are fab. I love the jump in participation and I've really loved reading all your posts.

Prior to publication -- with the exception of chapters submitted to contests - only people I knew ever read the books, and I was able to quiz them minutes after they read my book or scene or whatever I gave them! (LOL, my sister Lisette could tell you stories.) This is sort of similar. :)

Okay...I'm going to pick winner's now. Check the T -7 blog which I will post in a few minutes to see if you've won!

cheers
Cheryl
