Good Morning! NINE MORE DAYS! WHOO HOO!!!!!! I read on average 2 to 3 books a week. I buy most of my books, but occasionally I will be given books. However, books I love I don't lend, trade or swap (yours & CF's). I have a special bookshelf in my bedroom for my books. I love series books, such as yours and the Dark Series by Christine Feehan (love Jacques!) and will re-read them at times when I get into a rut and just need that connection with the books.

On average I say that I read about 3 books a week. Although, sometimes its less and sometimes its more. I like to get most of my books from the library. However, I must buy my favorite authors like yours so I can read my favorite books again and again when I'm in the mood and don't have time to go to a bookstore or a library at that moment.

I read four to five books a week.

Books come to me in all sorts of ways. My friends and family members who like to read will loan out books, as do I, so the selection on my bookcase is constantly changing!

If I hear about a good read, I will usually check it out from the library first. If it is worthy, then I buy a copy for my own. If not - well, I saved money to buy another book.

The only time I will buy a book without reading if first is if I feel I can trust the author to be worth the risk. Such authors include Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child, J.K. Rowling, Orson Scott Card...and of course a recent addition to the list has been C.L. Lewis. The third book is already on order!

It varies for me. During the summer is when I get my fill of reading. I take my time with a particular book when I go back to school because of extra work I get. I work in a bookstore during the summers and bring home a different book home almost every day LOL (bad for the paycheck hehe) If the story is good and I enjoy a book I will read it within a day or two. I like to savor others and make them last longer so it just depends on the book. I was a zombie after reading the Twilight books this summer. I dragged into work barely remembering my name…but only a bookstore staff would understand! ☺
I usually always buy my books new. I will wait a while if it is in hardcover, but I will give in an buy it if I can’t wait.

I took Cheryl’s recommendation for other books on her myspace page and now I am halfway through The Enchantment by Betina Krahn. I really like this book! It’s a romance novel about Vikings! I can’t resist anything ‘Viking’ because I just recently learned that my family lineage is linked to Eirik Håkonsson, the Jarl of Lade Norway, who defeated the king in the Battle of Svolder, and later became the King himself! My last name is Ladd, so he took the surname of the land in which he ruled, Lade, then the spelling changed over the years…

Ok. ok I’ll shuttup!..hehe I ramble, sorry

9 DAYS!!

Single digits now! Awwwriiiight!!
Hmm.... it varies. It used to be that I'd read anywhere from 7-10 books a week, or more, but as I've gotten a little older and into the working world, I find my pace has slowed considerably, and usually it's about 1-4 books a week; if I'm having trouble concentrating, sometimes I might not even finish one. These days I find myself reading books over and over, as I used to do when I was younger, either because the new books I want to read are in hardcover (and I only buy paperbacks, with rare exceptions), or because I want to re-travel that slightly more worn path with a favorite. When I first got LORD and LADY, I spent at least a month and a half with them...each! and the stories were new every time. I'll probably spend at least as long with KING and QUEEN! My "most-loved, must keep, get your grubby paws off" shelf has only a few books; LORD, LADY, the first Valdemar trilogy, Anne McCaffrey's Dragonsinger trilogy, Ender's Game, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, and my Feehan books. Fortunately I have long, deep bookshelves! (and no they're not double-stacked), and room for KING and QUEEN!

On average I read two books a week, more if I can. I usually read used, occasionally from library but most from used book store. I always buy my favorite authors books new and never give my favorites away or trade them.
I'm going to attempt to buy more new books though, after finding out how little authors earn for the new releases per book. I definitely want the authors I enjoy to keep writing !!!

I read about a book a day I guess. A bit difficult to say as I read more at once. And that is counting the studybooks as well. Doing a lot of research as I am in the process of setting up my own practice in counseling.

I always search to get my books as cheap as possible. For american pockets I usually get them from proxis. A belgian firm that is about half as cheap as dutch stores or online stores. Hardbacks I order at amazon.com, for thos authors I really can't wait for the pocket. English pockets I get at play.com in Britain, they don't charge any postage costs.

And for the older books I am always looking on ebay and a few secondhand online shops to find them.

For dutch books [we still have a fixed selling price] I try to support my local bookstore as often as I can. But the difference in price for the english an american books is just too high to do that as well.

Thank you so much!!! I never win anything. I am so excited about winning the King poster. :-) So now how many books do I read? Well, I am an intermittent reader so I will read for a few weeks straight and then not pick up a book for months. Lately I was browsing Amazon and since I like C.L. Wilson's books, they recommended Christine Feehan's books. Ironically, my neighbor was having a garage sale the next day and I found one of her books there! So, now I have something to fill the void until King comes out. :-) I can tell these two aouthors are friends, btw, because there are some similar ideas in the two series so far. Overall, I will read constantly- if I have a really good book.

That's hard for me to guess because, if it's not brand new or I'm not reading it for school, I often pick up and just skim through old favorites reading only my favorite parts instead of reading it through cover to cover. If that counts, then it's about 4 or 5 a week, maybe more depending on how many chapters my professors make me read.

YAY! On the only nine days left. I have to say, though I have really enjoyed blogging with you wonderful people. THis is not something I usually do, so it was nice to find it quite fun.

I am a Junior in College, so I don't get to read like I want during school term. I also have a two year old boy, so I have to play with him as well instead of reading. But, this past summer I read generally 3 books a day. I get all my stuff done early, take a break to read, play, teach, etc. with my kid, while he naps read some more, and then at night when everyone is in bed I stay up until midnight reading. During school, not so much, maybe I finish a book a week, if I even read. If no tests are due on Monday, I generally read one book over the weekend in the midst of catching up on housework.
My husband, built me a bookcase that is ridiculously huge, and it is full and double stacked. :) He didn't think I could get that many books. I get my books from many diverse places. Salvation Army, yard sales, friends, family, walmart, amazon, Books a million, and the wonderful Public Library! The books on my shelves are the ones that I have to own because they are the best. Only SPECIAL people get to borrow them. I had the hardest time trying to get CL Wilson's first two books, that I have been VERY< VERY selective about who gets to borrow them. I have to know I will get them back! LOL!!!! I am so excited about KING coming out, because I am rereading the first two and I am going to read that one right afterwards!!!!

Why do I feel like singing "Nine days to go, nine days to go, if one day should happen to fall then there will be eight days to go" ?

On a busy week I only read 5 books. But on a normal week it can be anything up to 14. I love getting up in the morning, pottering around getting ready for the day and having a bit of a read. I go off to work. When I get home,, I do the potter thing about dinner and such like then instead of plonking down in front of the TV, I grab a book and read. I can read up to 3 a night on the weekends.

I get my books from everywhere. The library, second hand books stores, Amazon, Deep discount, Ebay my in laws, my sister basically where ever I can get my hands on the books I want to read. It took 5 years to convince my in laws that I would rather books as presents than anything else.

I've actually turned over a new leaf and get the book I want to read from the library or second hand first so that when I really fall in love with a book,, I can then get it in hard cover and not feel so guilty about having two copies hanging around lol
Also once I find a good book,, I tend to tell everyone I know about it so its handy having a seond copy hanging around to get them hooked as well

I spend a lot of time a various places looking for something new to read. Usually though I buy from Amazon, buy from various ebook places (eharlequin, fictionwise, mobibooks, Diesel ebooks,), or stop in a various book stores.
I, too, like series books such as these and the Dark Carpathian Series, not to mention many others.
(And if you ordered from Amazon, you may want to check in with them on 'King'. I don't know if it was an accident, but they shipped 'King' (and are no longer showing it as a pre-order)--and what can I say other than it was well worth the wait!!! Loved it completely and am already starting on my third reading of it--after staying up late last night.)

But my predominate destination for older books is the good ol' public library. I have found a few authors i like but I try to change things up from time to time.

I have a tendancy to read Historical romances and have switched to detective novels and fantasy fic. to break up the monotony, That is until the 30th! Cannot wait, I keep rereading the first few chapters on the sight. can't wait to read what happens next!

Hey there!! During school I try to read on the weekends as much as possible, but classes and work tend to take up most of my time. When classes are on break or in the summer I tend to read about 2-3 books a week. Most often I'll borrow books from the local library but when I'm lucky I'll get a great purchase at a garge sale for 25 to 50 cents. But once this 3rd book is released I'll probably stay up late just to see what new and exciting adventures Ellysetta and Rain come to next!!

Over the years, I've become quite good at "skimming" books rather than reading in full. So, every 3 or 4 months I get what I call my "reading for pleasure withdrawals" and so I check amazon.com/ amazon.ca/ chapters.ca book reviews to see if there is anything that catches my interst.

I usually buy used or go to the local library. I've also become quite picky so it takes a very rare book for me to buy it new - these are usually my keeper books.

LOL, I sound like an exclusionist and "addict" with my skimming and my "reading withdrawals"! It's a testament to Cheryl's wonderful writing and awesome story telling abilities that her series is at the top of my keeper list.

Sorry for the ramble, but while I'm rambling, I also have a confession to make - I'm a huge fan of fantasy books and historical/regency romances, but I'm not a fan of vampire or other types of "paranormal" stories. So I haven't read Christine Feehan's series and a few others I've seen recommended by Cheryl and others here *ducks rotten vegetables". LOL, I just don't like the idea of main characters sucking/drinking human blood. I'm fine if there are bloodsuckers or vampires as secondary characters, but not as the protagonists *ducks the rotten fruit*.

Well for me the number of books I read a week really depends on my mood and what else is going on. Some weeks I may go without reading much at all, and other times I may knock out a book in a few days. Usually when it's a good book, when I start, I only stop for things I have to stop for like work, eating, showering(maybe a little less than normal), etc. LOL I look forward to King, I def. think it will be one of those nonstop reads! :) T-9

I read as much as my schedule will allow. Someytimes that can mean up to a book a day if I don't have a lot of work for that week, I used to do that over the summer break. Now that I am working full-time (60 hrs) that has decreased to 3-4 a week.

I trade books on Paperbackswap.com and I also purchase a TON of ebooks - they are so quick and handy that it's addictive. I only buy paperbacks if they are brand new and hard to trade and are not avaliable in the ebook format.

CANNOT wait for the 30th, the little sentances (hints) have so got my curiosity going!

It depends, but in the best situation I can read about 4-6 books within a week. I get books at book stores like Borders or Barns and Noble. KING wont be any different. I'll buy it, read it within a day or two; then proceed to re-read it over and over again for the course of two weeks. I can't wait!! :D :D :D

I read three to five books a week as time permits.

I get my books as gifts, I buy them online, new and used at bookstores or flea markets. If there's a stack of books to be found you'll find me picking through them.

I love them. The ones I count as friends live in every nook and cranny of my house and then, of course, some books are simply passing aquaintances and I give them away or sell them so I can...buy MORE books.

Yours, in particular, live next door to: the Carpathians (Christine Feehan), the Dark-Hunters (Sherrilyn Kenyon), and the Black Dagger Brotherhood (J.R. Ward). There's a LOT of testosterone in that particular bookcase.

I read four or five books a week. I'd read a new (or beloved old) book every day except my job interferes sometimes. I buy most of them new because I can't wait until the library gets them in. I tell my husband that there are worst vices than a reading addiction. (When I was younger and poorer, I waited for my turn at the library). Once I have found an author that I really like, I go to used book stores and find all of her books. I love science fiction/fantasy/romance and love a happy ending. I just wish that the covers of romances weren't so revealing. I am a Ph.D. in the sciences and I'm always hiding the bold cover inside a professional journal. I love your books!

I read way too many books in a week! It really depends on the book on how many though. I'm finding that many ebooks are shorter than their print brothers and it's not hard to get through one in a couple of hours. If I'm not busy at work, I can usually finish a book at work and then read another that night. If the book is boring....and I have one of those by my desk at work right now...it may take me weeks to finish it. I read other books while working on that one.

Now, as to where I get my books. I have a monthly direct shipment from Dorchester. Two books per month from them. I get anywhere from 10 to 20 books a month from Night Owl Romance to review. I buy ebooks from Amazon. Books I know that I want, I preorder from Books a Million via Internet as we don't have a real bookstore within 40 miles. Ebay is my best friend when it comes to finding older copies of books. We also have a used bookstore within a few miles of where I work. My daughters know some of the authors that I regularly read and will call if they find one at a yardsale to see if I want it. Seldom do I run out of books to read and if I do, I have a very large bookcase full of books that I have read over and over again!

I read a lot! On average I would say I go through at least five or six books a week if not more. I get my books from all over too. For must buys like yours I'll go out and buy the book from a local bookstore. A lot of my other wish list books come from my book club online at www.Paperbackswap.com . For books I'm not sure about but want to read, I'll borrow them from the library but I have to tell you that my library doesn't carry a lot of the books I like so I usually have to tack on an extra week or more until I get a book from the library unfortunately which motivates me to find the books in other ways. And then we have a lot of used book stores around my house where I pick up books as well. I swap occasionally with friends or family but my favorites stay on my shelf at home here. I've even found myself buying doubles of your books to give to friends because I don't want to part with my favorite books but also want my friends to read the great stories you write.

Wow. You guys are super! I love learning about you all - and I especially love hearing about book loving. I am a book addict. Can't pass up a bookstore without going in to browse their shelves. In my youth (before kids and career), I read anywhere from 7-20 books a week. (Could read a 400 page novel in 3 hours.) I've slowed down, but I still buy books...my shelves are packed. I have a storage shed which we rent primarily to house all the books I refuse to give away, plus I have three 6' x 2' bookcases crammed full, and books in every piece of furniture with unused drawers or cubbies. Of course, my mother has floor-to-ceiling bookcases built in every house she owns, so I come by my addiction quite naturally.

I have about 54 feet of floor to ceiling shelves in my basement library - full of romance books. I can't wait for the next book of this series! Absolutely loved the first two!!!!

To my fellow lovers of written art, for truly that is what CL Wilson's work is. I have read since 13, and now 20 years later I have found love again. With authors such as Christeen F, and CL, new readers can discover the lost love of cracking a new spine, delving into worlds unknown and finding characters that were usually only found on the big screen or in dreams... I am immensely happy that children will find the love I have on so many occasions turned to in times of need, distraction, curiosity or just a new sense of adventure. Thank you, to all writers, readers and lovers, in and out of books.
