Somebody Pinch Me
I didn't think life could throw me any more jaw-dropping surprises. The two weeks on the USA Today list with LORD OF THE FADING LANDS were such a shock. I walked around in a daze most of the month of October.
Then LADY came out and hit the USA Today at #88 on its first week. I was both elated and very grateful not to be a "one hit wonder." I was still dazed, still speechless with happiness, but starting to drift back down to earth so I could focus on getting my next books finished. (I need gravity-boots BAD!)
The my agent called and all hope of a graceful and swift drift back down to earth flew out the window.
LADY OF LIGHT AND SHADOWS hit #26 on the New York Times. (That is the Nov 18th, NYTimes Expanded Mass Market Fiction list)
Um...I think I have discovered the answer to hyperspace travel, because I swear to you I was orbiting Pluto in less than two minutes. Holy cow! Holy cow! Holy moon-jumping cow!
Thank you. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. Thank you for making this happen. Thank you for taking a chance on a new author and a new kind of book. Thank you for spreading the word. Thank you for all those wonderful, encouraging emails you've been sending me. Thank you for welcoming the Fey into your reader's heart. I appreciate you all more than I have words to say.
I don't know what will happen with my next books. I don't know what the future holds. But what I do know is, right now is pretty incredible. Right now, every writing dream I've ever had has come true.
And the view from Pluto? Stellar.

Congrats! I can't imagine a cooler feeling. Well, maybe the Power Ball lottery or something, but that would just be luck.
LOL, I certainly know that I'm one of those people! I borrowed the first book from the library, read it in a night, and then went right out the next day and bought them both! Just finished the second one, and it certainly just as wonderful as the first! You definitely deserve being out around Pluto :)
Ciar and Lauren,
It's been amazing. Beyond amazing. Simply doesn't feel real. I have no words. (And for me, that is saying a LOT! LOL!)

You deserve it! I have to say they are the best two books I have read in a long time. DH didn't know what to do we had no dinner or clean clothes until I was done reading! Congrats!
Stellar Congratulations! You see, Pluto is receiving it's due, despite being callously demoted by those WHO know nothing! I'm excited to have found your blog. Since I was very impressed with the write up about you in Romantic Times, your stories -- right up my alley. May Pluto become your lauching point.
Major congrats!! You are amazing and I'm so happy for you. Enjoy the ride and get used to the altitude since I'm thinking you're going to be there a long time. :D
Thinking back to the star you saw and knowing it was showing you the path too all things wonderful.
Congratulations! I actually just finished reading your second book; I found it in the mailbox and noon today and haven't been able to put it down since! I can't wait for your next books to come out... I have to say, I predict a rousing success for them as well. ;)
Congrats from England! I'm an avid reader and I have to say, these were one of the best books I've ever read!! Fantastic!!! I couldn't put them down. You just can't help falling in love with Rain and Ellysetta and their friends. Can't wait for the next instalment. I have no doubt your next book will be just as thrilling. Thank you.
Congratulations!
But I'm not surprised. I read about 4-5 books a week, and these are just heads/shoulders above the rest.
Go ahead and float! You've most definately earned it!
Had Lady on auto buy from Amazon. NEEDED to have it as soon as it came out, and I LOVED it.

Ms. Wilson:
I must admit I randomly picked up Lady of Light and Shadows while grabbing some necessities from the local drug store. The cover caught my attention (kudos on the artwork) and I decided to give it a chance. I am very glad that I did. It was one of the most engrossing books that I have ever read. You definitely breathed life into your characters and their world. I don't generally blog or leave messages on author's websites, but I felt compelled to let you know that you have gained a loyal fan... There wasn't a latent "Spirit weave" in that book was there?...(smile)
Best of luck and much very deserved success!
Just arrived at the Austin, TX airport on way to visit friends, and guess what two books were front and center in the airport book store. Lord and Lady. The STARS are big and bright in TEXAS. Congratulations,
Just read both books over the past two weeks. Love 'em! They rock! You rock! Whoooooo!!!!! =)
I loved those books, and am eagerly awaiting the publication of your next two books.

These are driving me nuts, shows how emotionaly envolved I am, But I understand if I'll just have to wait till next fall to find out.;)
Oh and one more thing....when will the covers of the next 2 books be ready for veiwing on your website?
Sorry for getting all fangirly, but I really love the books! :)
Ooops! that last post was mine. Forgot to put my name up.
*blushes*
Just wanted to drop a line and say Congrat's 2 of the best books I have read in a very very long time.
Happy New Year
Donna
So happy for you!! I was caught in the magic from just reading an excerpt...which led to me winning an ARC of "Lord"...and after reading both books i'm not surprised that i'm still caught up in the magic of Rain & Ellysetta, her primary cha'kor, etc... Never be in doubt you have this FAN eagerly waiting to read more. Until then I'll just put a few more creases in my "Lord" and "Lady" books for several more months.
Loved these books! Got them both for Xmas and read them over 3 days--couldn't put them down! So disappointed to hear the next ones won't be out until later in 08. the sooner the better please.
These are characters that linger long after the reading is done.
I just bought and finished book 1. All I can say is "Outstanding." Another new world to visit and dream about. Now I'm off to get book 2. Thank you!
Your books are awesome. I just finished the second one and I can't wait for the next one and see how she is going to do in the Fading Lands. Is she going to change in a Tairen... So many questions... I am really looking forward for the next one and to get the answers there.
Congratulations again! You are a very talented writer.
KC from NY: Your stories are fantastic! I picked the first one up at random at a Wal-Mart and I was hooked! Had to go out and buy the second one the day it was sent out. Loved both of them! Your books are right up there with my other favorite authors, Feehan and Ward. I'm going to whine - isn't there any way your next book can be published faster? Like, come out next week? Please- keep writing!
I have told everyone I know about these books. Everyone who loves romance or fantasy...I am so pleased for your sucess!
