Congratulations, I can only imagine how exciting everything has been for you. ~nico
Congrats!
Well, I am not surprised at all! This book could/should easily be found in the the romance and the fantasy section of the book store. It has one of those amazing plot lines that makes you keep turning the pages. Who was it that said "Put your hero in a tree and throw rocks at him!" You did that, and then threw boulders! I am going crazy waiting for the next installment!
Congratulations! I have a quick question that I am hoping you (or one of the bloggers) can answer for me - hopefully it's ok to ask a question here! In Lady of Light and Shadows (the preview booklet) Rain says "Ve khoda kem'san". I know that Kem'san is my heart/my love and I am guessing Ve is you but what does khoda mean? I have my guesses but I would like to know for sure :) Thanks for you time and congrats again!!
Thanks so much Nico & Kristen!
Jessica - you are giving me so much blog love! Thanks a bunch! :) I'm thrilled you enjoyed the book!! More boulders to come in Lady....bwahaha!
Jamie - you're breaking my heart. kem'san (any kem' = of mine, san=heart or love. kem'san = my heart / my love). Sounds like you're getting good and speaking Feyan *gg*
Jaime - meant to say....ve khoda kem'san *means* "You're breaking my heart".
Sorry - sounds like I said YOU were breaking my heart by asking the questions! LOL. You weren't, BTW. I love that you asked.
Beylah vo!
That's what I thought it might mean but I didn't want to guess and be totally wrong! It fit with the context of the scene well so there very little guessing work. I just have to know things for sure or it drives me nuts! :) :)
Thanks for the prompt answer! I'm already spreading the word about this series to all my friends who are fantasy readers, can't wait to have some people to chat about it all with!
Congratulations Cheryl!!! I am so happy for you - I am still waiting for my books so I probably wont get my hands on them until sometime November. I thought it would be better to wait to get the sequel along with Lord of the Fading Lands. Good thing too since there is a postal strike over here!
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Hasna - hope you enjoy them!!!
Erica - LOL! And Squeeee right back *gg*
I am sooooooooooooooooo happy for you! In fact, I picked up the last copy of your book from the front table at Border's here in Boston yesterday -- on the "Hot Reads" table. You were between Heather Graham and Christine Feehan. Can't wait to read this weekend. = )
Hugs!
You SO deserve this! This book is fabulous, you are fabulous, your writing is fabulous, this blog is - er - fabulous. I need a new adjective, but it just fits all that is Cheryl. :)
Cheryl, I can't tell you how excited I am for you. Job well done. I won't write much, because I'm sure you're out still floating on clouds. Smooches.
Congrats! After reading your novel, I can honestly say you deserve it. The world you have created is original and your voice delightfully fresh. I just finished reading your "road to publication" and you give me hope and have become an inspiration. Keep writing! I can't wait to see what comes next!:-)
I found LOFL in the grocery story this weekend with a "Rising Star" placard in front of it. I put it up on the forum but I thought I would also let you know here. Fat bottomed girls dancing in the grocery aisle... not such a pretty sight. ;P

Brandy - So glad you enjoyed it and I hope LADY will make the weekend worthwhile :) As for Bel...muahahaha....the gods weave as the gods will *gg*
Congrats, I believed in you and knew that it would make the best sellers list. I just finished reading LADY. It was fantastic.....I loved every paged of the book....I found myself not wanting the book to end. I read the last 2 chapters twice. I loved when she turned into a Tairen Soul. The book was beautifully done. I cannot wait for the next 2 books in October 08 to be released I will be first in line. Sorry I missed you in Norcross Cheryl but hopefully I get to see you next time.....
I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed both your books. I just finished Lad of Light and Shadows and confess that even a few minutes after finishing it I still feel like reading it again =). A year is way to long to wait for the next two books!
I loved "Lord of the Fading Lands" and am anxious to read the next book, I came across it by accident looking for christine feehan...but your world rocks! I am a lover of both romance an sci-fi/paranormal, to find both in a longer novel is giving my heart a jolt as i can consume a smaller book in hours, you made me wait 3 days!!!Congrats!!!
I ordered Lady- through Amazon and got it early...what you didn't tell me is that the next two don't come out until next year. I am so going to DIE! I usually don't enjoy this style of series romance, but this isn't plain old romance...the fantasy elements, the layered plot keep me interested and engaged. I think this book should be in the fantasy sci-fi section too!
I have found a lot of amazing writters on the blog world.. congrats this is wonderful news!!
and i just bought the book and it was great;)
